BWI Airport, Portalocity Lounge

Some people flew into BWI. Some people portaled in. And then there was Skaar, who landed at the Portalocity Terminal after one final two-mile long jump. He showed his clearance from Captain Rogers proving that it had been arranged and that, yes, he could enter the terminal carrying a big-ass sword, and then he went inside.

Once inside the airport, Skaar spotted the "WELCOME FANDOM STUDENTS" banner and sat down on a bench clear of the glitter that was falling off of it. He didn't realize it yet, but it was pretty much the Fandom experience right there in the terminal. Sit by the giant, green, long-haired, shirtless, half-alien barbarian spy guy with a sword that was bigger than you strapped to his back, or drown in glitter. Honestly, you were probably safer with Skaar.

[OOC: Have a newbie shuttle post!]

Mingling was for the weak. And the socially competent, neither of which Laura was. It evened out?

Traveling to a whole different world didn't phase her in the least, because once you go to the far future and kill the alternate version of what could pass for your best friend (kinda) things tend to lose their shine. Laura was simply going to sit with her knees up and against her chest, hugging her legs and pretending to be furniture, all while looking at the other people there, already trying to find weaknesses.

Super stealthy.

Perhaps out of everyone the lounge, Laura had paid more attention to Skaar. She was familiar with The Hulk, after all. The fact the boy (boy?) was apparently civilized and calm was a bit confusing, not to mention intriguing. Intriguing enough to warrant conversation?

"Not really. I do not mind though." She didn't have anywhere else to be anyway. "Are you familiar with The Hulk?" Better get that out of the way.

"I see." There was no surprise on her voice, not even after Skaar's admission to attempted parricide. "Yes, I know how it is." Logan wasn't her father, but it was the closest she would ever have to one.

"Did he send you here?"

Raven had successfully managed to get herself transferred from Ever After High to Fandom High, at least for a semester. She was looking forward to a fresh start at a school where everyone didn't scream and run away from her because she was "evil."

She had several pieces of luggage floating next to her in a glow of purple magic as she walked from the Portalocity terminal to the shuttle waiting area. She had a lot of shoes, OK?

Raven had gone to school with giants and trolls, so Skaar's appearance didn't phase her in the slightest.

"It is," she said. "Hi! I'm Raven Queen." Saying her name made her a little nervous. No one here was supposed to know who she was and who she was supposed to be, but she couldn't help but worry.

Right then. Constantine wasn't sure who the hell on the school board thought he was a Good Idea for driving the fresh meat to the school, but he was here, studiously ignoring any-and-all 'no smoking' signs as he lounged in a chair next to the shuttle that read 'Fandom High,' propping his feet up on...a bowling bag?

If he kicked the bag occasionally when someone got annoying, well, it was coincidence.

"Oi! If you're heading to Fandom, get a move on!" he yelled. "It's your own damn fault if I leave you behind."

And if someone scowled at the bag-kicking, that was...not at all coincidence.

"Do you have a list?" Bob asked. He ogled a woman waiting for a taxi and gave her an overly charming smile.

"'M a librarian, mate," John said guilelessly. "I have loads of lists."

Just not with him. Because Constantine was an asshole.
nuclear_snide: (uh-huh if you say so)

Bob rolled his eyes. "Of the students. The ones we're picking up? Wouldn't want to lose any before we even get there.'

Well now, that was a boy who'd been eating his vegetables. Possibly to an extreme.

"Not too far, mate," Constantine promised. "Though it gets farther away with every 'are we there yet?' that I hear."

Magic? Maybe. Or maybe he'd just need to stop for more cigarette breaks.

Laura got all the way to the bus' door, got a good whiff out of Constantine, and doubted. She didn't like his scent one bit. Too many unknowns, plus the smoke.

"May I walk?"
talentforlying: (not so black and white)

[personal profile] talentforlying 2016-01-01 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And that was why Laura was probably the smartest person in the airport.

"Nope. Now you've shown up, in the van with you," he said. "'S too far to walk, unless you're a teleporter. In which case, you should have just gone straight to the school."
nuclear_snide: (WTF)

[personal profile] nuclear_snide 2016-01-01 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Don't worry," Bob added cheerfully, "he's never killed anyone yet with the bus."

Though in your defense, does Frank actually remember he's not a newbie anymore?
