Today, Cara was holding class in the Danger Shop, which looked an awful lot like Caritas, down to the holographic Tino behind the bar.

"We all have different ways of dealing with life's irritations," she began. "Some people try to ignore them, some people think talking will solve all their problems, and some people like to take the direct route." Three guesses which category Cara fell into.

"But sometimes we can't actually use our preferred method, for whatever reason. Maybe you're being physically prevented by a spell, or maybe the irritant in question is a co-worker who refuses to be reasonable. Which is why you're all going to take turns helping Tino with a problem. Of course it's Tino, so you'll probably spend more time trying to figure out what the problem is in the first place."

The ever-moddable Tino had a different problem for each student.

Carmilla- The zombie band are on strike until Tino gives them a bigger cut of the CD and shirt royalties.
Kathy - Tino has glued himself to the bar.
Ringo - Tiny stole Tino's buckets.
Cecil - Everyone likes the showboating flamingo better.
Cassandra - Bees.
Kira - Tino decided to experiment with new cocktails and now things are on fire.

The real lesson here was not to work with Tino if you could help it.

Kathy had never been to Caritas, so she only had the radio to go on for reports about what Tino was like.

She was surprised to find that the radio had not lied about dealing with him. Kathy's first attempt to find out what the problem was had Tino going back to 2010 for things to complain about.

Oh god what had she done?

Fortunately, she figured out what the main problem was when she asked him to get her a glass of soda to drink while he bitched expressed his feelings. Getting nail polish remover to free him was a pretty simple step after that--though then all he did was complain about how the nail polish remover stripped the varnish off the bar.

"No," Cassandra said firmly.

Tino reiterated his request.

"No," she repeated.

He reiterated it very emphatically.

"No," she replied. Then, as a very firm afterthought: "Deal. With. It."

And then she left him with the bees.

Thankfully, Kira didn't have to listen to Tino for very long, considering the fire spoke for itself. She grabbed one of the drink sprayers from behind the bar to put the fire out, and then sprayed it at Tino like she was spritzing a cat. "Alcohol doesn't need fire. Stop it," she said firmly, before putting the sprayer down.
