"Today," Lito declared, "I would like for everyone to pair up and have an argument. I don't care what it's about, as long as it is suitable for the classroom, and you must keep it going. Try to select a topic you don't actually care about that much, or a position you disagree with. Arguing about something you care about already is easy, no? That's cheating. First person to break character loses. Any questions? No? Let's get started, then."

Kathy felt pretty awful after yesterday's...everything...and she wasn't a huge fan of arguing with anyone to begin with, but she dutifully looked around for a partner anyway.

He was n a decent enough mood.Not that trying to eat Buffy had been a highlight of his life, but it seemed harmless enough as such things went.

Kathy took these things personally. And leaving bitemarks on Dante--decidedly not dirty--and terrifying Sparkle and Kenzi made for a very guilty girl.

Still, she did manage to give Anders a small smile as he sat down. "That might be the nicest invitation to fight I've ever gotten."

"That would absolutely be dramatic," Kathy said. "And would probably fast track us to an A for today's class. What are the odds I can convince you to do that? I've been curious about your cackle for awhile now."

"I don't blame you," Anders said,tugging his hair out of its ponytail so it would fall to his shoulders. It went with being dramatic. "I do look like a man with a striking cackle, don't I?"

He unleashed said 'striking cackle,' a long string of melodramatic HAHAHAHAs. He did not, however, jump on the desk.

And there went Kathy, cracking up at in her seat. Maybe if she'd had a few more drama classes under her belt, she could have held that in, but there was no chance for that today.

"That was, umm..." Her lips kept twitching. "...very striking indeed. I should have known you were a man who knew his way around a good cackle."

"It's a valuable life skill," Anders told her, trying hard not to smile but not succeeding particularly well. "You can't expect to get anywhere if you don't cackle well, that's what I always say."

"Oh really?" she challenged. "I can understand the value in pretending to cry, but a cackle? Who needs that?"

"You're daft, woman," Anders shot back, folding his arms. "Sobbing just makes you look weak.A good cackle shows you know you have the upper hand."

He hoped he'd been right in guessing what she was on about, or he had just sounded utterly mad.
