Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could work on their tan while they ate, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool and non-crispy.

All of the tables had some blue and gold glitter scattered across them, because there was always enough to go around. This school certainly was blesesed in all the right ways.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Maybe from space..."

"My food is not weird," Mara said. "Most of it is even cooked first!"

"Can't say I've had any, so..." A beat. "Unless you wanna share it with me."

Mara blushed. "Well, maybe..."

"Wouldn't turn down a little cultural exploration." Because he was Eggsy.

Mara was still blushing. "Does that work on girls at home at all?"

"Depends on the girl," he said with a laugh. "Workin' on you?"

Maybe a little.

"I'm only being polite because you're new," she said.

"Breakin' my heart," he replied with exaggerated hurt.

"Yeah, you look just terrible," Mara said. "Should I find your roommate to comfort you in such difficult moments?"

"Pass. She'd rather see my low class ass kicked outta here."

They were besties. Honest.

"But you only just got here," Mara said, frowning. "Who's your roommate?"

"X-something. Can't pronounce the name for the life of me."

No one could.

Mara frowned again. "I'll remember."

Because you don't judge people on whether they're poor. You judge them by if they were a woman or a weird looking alien of if Palpatine hated them that day!

Imperial politics were fun.

You picked a bad sugar daddy, Mara. You could do way better.

He shrugged. "You get used to that shit, yeah?"

"I don't see why you have to," Mara said a little icily. Someone's fairness ideals were getting ruffled.

"Never come to London, yeah. All the have and have nots."

Mara's smile was wry. "Coruscant is the capitol planet of the entire galaxy. I've seen the haves and have nothings."

"And they all talk like us?" British = Space. It was the best thing ever.

"Well, the humans do, at least," Mara said. "If they're from the Core. They sound less...refined...if they are from the Outer or Inner Rims."

"Ain't had someone say I sound 'refined' before."

For some reason.

"Compared to someone from Tatooine, you're the height of sophistication," Mara assured him.

Somewhere, Luke was feeling very insulted.

At least he wasn't a nerf-herder. Congrats, Luke?

"Why would you come here if you're from space?" Hell, he wouldn't come here if he was from space. Because he'd be from space.

And it'd be awesome.

"My guardian insisted that it would be a terrific learning experience," Mara said.

Well, technically, Palpatine had hissed, "Do not fail me, Mara Jade," but that was practically the same thing, right?

Basically!

"And how's that workin' for you?"
