Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could work on their tan while they ate, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool and non-crispy.

All of the tables had some blue and gold glitter scattered across them, because there was always enough to go around. This school certainly was blesesed in all the right ways.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Ah." Ringo laughed, eyes dancing. "I see. Good plan."

"Actually," she added, "I didn't realize that that was a tradition." She looked around. "Probably should have figured that out, though, huh?"

"It may have fallen a bit to the wayside the last few picnics," Raven said solemnly. "But that just means it's more important we bring it back."

"Right!" Ringo agreed.

She looked down at Raven's legs again and grinned. "Well, if your current plan doesn't succeed, I can't imagine anything that would."

"Thanks," Raven said again. "You know, if you wanted to run in and change, we could always use some extra help."

Ringo giggled. "I don't know if I'd be that much help." She shrugged a bit helplessly. "I mean, compared to you and Kathy..."

Well, for one thing, Ringo was way too short to have her legs look like that.

Raven had an unfair advantage on that point. She could make her legs just as long as she pleased. "Don't be silly! You'd look fantastic."

"Well," Ringo mused, flushing slightly at the implied compliment. "I do have a pretty awesome swimsuit I bought this summer that I haven't gotten much use out of."

"Well there you go! You're not going to get too many more chances to show it off this season."

"Well, I guess I can't argue with that," Ringo allowed with a grin.

She considered her options for a moment, then nodded. "Okay, I guess you've convinced me. But don't go anywhere, okay? I'll be right back and you have to be here to assure me that I don't actually look ridiculous."

Because if she did, she could run back and change again.

"I'll be right here," Raven promised with a grin.

Ringo dashed off.

When she came back, she was wearing a blue bikini. Well, the top. She had a pair of shorts pulled on, too. And a light shirt that she'd left unbuttoned. It would be easier than having to run back and change if this turned out to be a bad idea, after all.

"Do I look okay?" she asked. "And tell me the truth!"

Raven's smile was delighted. "That is a great color on you," she said. "You look amazing."

"Really?" Ringo flushed, but looked pleased. "I mean, I still wish I had your legs, but, well, I guess it is a really good color."

Maybe she didn't need the shirt?

"Admittedly I'm partial to blue," Raven said. "But I definitely think so."

Ringo smiled, still blushing a bit, but peeled her shirt off and tied the arms around her waist. "Well, I guess I'll have to trust your expert opinion," she decided with a grin.

"An excellent choice," Raven said. "We'll have this whole place showing skin yet."

"Well, with you as an advocate, I don't see how we could fail."

Ringo grinned, ducking her head. "Thanks," she said softly.

"I didn't do anything but tell the truth," Raven answered back just as softly.

Ringo shrugged awkwardly. "It's still nice to hear." She grinned slightly. "I mean, I've never really had a lot of chances to dress up just to, you know, try to look good, so." It was nice thinking that it had worked out.

"Feels good, doesn't it?"

"Yeah." Ringo's smile was bright. "It does."

"I'm glad you talked me into it."

She looked up at Raven, looking serious. "Thanks."

"You're very welcome."
