Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could work on their tan while they ate, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool and non-crispy.

All of the tables had some blue and gold glitter scattered across them, because there was always enough to go around. This school certainly was blesesed in all the right ways.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"That's about the best we can ask for, right?" Cosima asked rhetorically. "I mean, one bad week and 15 good ones is a pretty decent ratio."

"It is!" Ringo agreed enthusiastically. "Way better than any summer I've had before," she added with a grin.

She pursed her lips slightly. "How were things back home?" she asked. "Actually," Ringo looked a bit sheepish, "where is home for you?"

Cosima laughed. "San Francisco. Things were pretty decent there. Where's home for you? And how bad were your summers before?"

"Tokyo," Ringo answered, looking nostalgic for a moment. Then she shook that off.

"And they weren't really that bad. But I'd say that my average summer before had at least two or three weeks that weren't awesome." Some had actually been bad, but for the most part they had just been, well, less than awesome.

"I wish I could go to Tokyo," Cosima told her wistfully. "It just seems like the coolest city. I get why you miss it, even if there were some non-awesome weeks in there."
soniaroadsqueen: (straight at you)

"You could come back with me sometime when I go visit my family," Ringo offered. "I don't know if I'd make much of a tour guide, but I'd be glad to show you around."

She grinned. "At least I know where some of the best food is."

"Um." Ringo looked suddenly awkward. "I mean. If you wanted to."

"Wow, um, that's ... generous," Cosima said, blinking because yeah, that was a little awkward coming from someone she didn't know particularly well. She wondered whether Ringo was flirting; she couldn't always tell. "You're really sweet to offer. Do you go home a whole lot?"
soniaroadsqueen: (pensive)

"And kind of weird, huh?" Ringo asked, shaking her head slightly, flushing in embarrassment.

"But I go home every couple of months or so? At least I have so far. I'm pretty close with my sisters."
sciclone: ([neu] unimpressed)

"Maybe a little," Cosima said sympathetically. "In a nice way. But that's cool. Are you from a big family?"
soniaroadsqueen: (seriously)

"Sorry about that." Ringo shook her head, then shrugged helplessly. "I guess I'm a bit too, I don't know, forward? I want to be friends with everyone. It's like I didn't have time for it for a long time, and I'm in a rush to make up for it."

"As to family, well, not exactly? It's just me and my sisters. I don't think that the four of us really counts as 'big', right?"
