Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could work on their tan while they ate, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool and non-crispy.

All of the tables had some blue and gold glitter scattered across them, because there was always enough to go around. This school certainly was blesesed in all the right ways.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Alana was definitely among the guy fanciers, and with Johnny gone she had a vague idea flirting might make her feel better. (Or at least get her out of the ice cream-and-soap operas spiral that had consumed her last week.) So she was smiling when she came up to Ezra.

"Nice to see you being so welcoming to the new kids," she said. "Hi. How are you?"

"I'm good, and even better now that you're here, Alana," Ezra replied, like the compulsive flirt that he was. So, she'd come to the right place if that was something she was after. "And yourself? Other than maybe admiring the same things the new kids are."

"I've been better," Alana admitted. "Boyfriend left. So, y'know, that's fun. But seeing you eases the pain a little."

"Aww. And I'm very available for any kind of pain-easing you might need." He didn't really go for steady relationships, but he wasn't so clueless as to be unsympathetic.

Even if his sympathy was moderately dirty in nature. "Nice to see you, just in general."

"Believe me, I appreciate the thought," Alana said. She wasn't necessarily inclined to act on it right now, but she wasn't going to be in mourning forever. "And thanks. Good to see you, too. Did you leave for a while, or was I just totally oblivious when you were around?"

"I've been here and there," Ezra replied with a light shrug. "I was called back home for a while during the break. Ended up being gone longer than planned."

"Doing anything interesting?" Alana asked idly. "I'm glad you came back, anyhow."

"Just things," he said lightly. Annnd moving on. "But it's great to be back here where the amount of prettiness in the population is so staggering."

That dodge wasn't nearly as subtle as Ezra might have meant it to be. Alana didn't comment -- she wasn't that pushy -- but she took note.

"It's your senior year too, right?" she asked. "We have to enjoy the prettiness while we can."

"Correct," he confirmed. "But I'm good at making the most of whatever time I have."

Case in point: his general success at attracting people both old and new at this picnic.
