Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could work on their tan while they ate, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool and non-crispy.

All of the tables had some blue and gold glitter scattered across them, because there was always enough to go around. This school certainly was blesesed in all the right ways.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"I got free food, a free view, and free entertainment," Dante said, nodding at various shirtless or half-dressed people on the second and the pony on the third. "Life could be worse."

Especially since he had some place to crash tonight. Probably.

"Well that's a pretty upbeat attitude," Dipper said. He'd been doing his best not to gawk at everyone in swimsuits and shirtlessness. "Most people get pretty rattled on their first day here."

Nothing had tried to attack him or drag him into Limbo so far. For Dante, that made today practically a Bahamas vacation or something.

"Eh, I like a little rattling," Dante said. "Keeps a guy awake."

"Well you won't a problem with that here," Dipper chuckled. "You should have no problem adjusting to this place."

"It's a school. What's there to adjust to?"

He nodded towards Pinkie. "I mean, besides the demons."

Unless he was hallucinating Pinkie, which... you know, he might be.

"Demon?"

Dipper turned and looked at Pinkie. "Oh! I thought she was just a taking pony. Is she a demon? She seems too cheerful to be a demon. Are there such a thing as cheerful demons?"

"Yeah," Dante said. "That's usually when you start running. Or fighting your way out."

Dipper didn't look like the fighting your way out type.

Dipper certainly had that look about him. Though he has his moments of valor from time to time.

"Well she's been around all summer and hasn't eaten anyone yet. I'm pretty sure she's safe."

Yeah, he actually said that.

Truthfully it wasn't that funny but Dante seemed cooler than Dipper so Dipper was just rolling with it.

"Still... She's a teacher at the school. I don't think they'd let a demon teach here if she were dangerous."

'sokay if you didn't laugh, Dipper. Dante wasn't particularly invested in whether anyone thought he was funny or not.

"You'd be surprised," he said, shrugging.

"Well, the pink pony part is kinda new," Dante said, "I'll give you guys that much."

"Sounds like your pretty comfortable with weird stuff happening around you," Dipper commented with a nod. "You'll probably do just fine around here."

We'll see how Dante feels after his first gremlin bite.

"Weird stuff happened to me a lot back at my Great Uncle's town," Dipper said nodding. "So this place isn't too bad for me either. A little getting used to but still fairly weird."

"Oh. Zombies. A dinosaur. Gnomes," Dipper said listing things off on the tips of his fingers. "Xeroxed clones of me. An overweight love god turned rock star. An evil triangle with one eye and a top hat. Oh, and a twelve year old fake-psychic who kept stalking my sister."
