Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could work on their tan while they ate, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool and non-crispy.

All of the tables had some blue and gold glitter scattered across them, because there was always enough to go around. This school certainly was blesesed in all the right ways.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Cassandra looked up. She let out a disgusted sigh.

"Orlais," she said flatly. "This is Fandom, I hope?"

Dipper was immediately scribbling out "Orlais" as best as he could spell it. "Yep. This is Fandom. What was that cool portal thing? Was it A portalocity portal or just your average day run of the mill average portal?"

"It is a product of dangerous magics," Cassandra said. She was not happy about having to make use of it. "I would suggest you stay far away from it. I have made use of it simply out of necessity."

Since she couldn't leave a mage like Anders wandering around unsupervised.

"Ooooo. How dangerous are we talking? Lethal? Dimension shattering? Epic Cataclysm?"

Dipper was a little too excited and cheerful for such a topic.

Cassandra shot him a very dry look. "Those who can use magic are susceptible to possession by demons," she said, "And that is without going into the consequences of such disciplines as blood magic."

"Oh. Right. Blood magic. Right. Right. Very bad," Dipper said knowledgeably.

He has no knowledge of blood magic whatsoever.

"Are there demon possessed people here? That's the second time someone brought up demons today."

"I have yet to find any," Cassandra said. "However, there are several mages here, at least one of which hails from my world. That is why I returned."

"Wait! Are you like a demon hunter? That is so cool!" Dipper exclaimed. "Have you hunted a lot of demons?"

"Some," Cassandra said mildly. "My training largely involved theoretical studies, not fieldwork."

"Oh." Dipper said looking slightly disappointed. "Well. If you're into the theoretical stuff I have a whole journal on some of the weird stuff I ran into back on my world. Not sure if it would apply to yours."

Cassandra let out a soft snort. "I have had my fill of theory, I assure you," she said. "I... graduated... my studies recently."

"Is that a course of study they offer here?" Dipper asked enthusiastically. "Because, dude, I'd totally be all over that."

At least from a theoretical point of view.

"There have been classes in a similar vein, but as far as I am aware, no one offers Seeker training at the school," Cassandra said, sounding mildly amused, "Which should be no surprise, as it is taught only to those who join the order."

"Oh. Is it kind of a religious order?" Dipper asked. "I'm not so sure I'm up for that."

Fighting demons? Sure. Religion? Not so much.
