Adventuring!, Thursday, Period 3

For the last class, like the first, the Danger Shop was set up to look like Ye Old-Timey Fantasy Tavern, because Hardison did love him some tropes, and 'getting an adventure hook in a tavern' was one of the oldest.

"I'm looking for some adventurers!" an old man announced a few minutes after class began. "A small band of the most brave and stalwart! Monsters have moved into the cave system nearby the village and are terrorizing our outlying farms! There's gold and treasure in it for anyone who can make our town safe again!"

Once the old man sat back down, Hardison stood up. "That's your final, class," he said. "You can work alone, though it might be easier to go in a group or somethin'. Head to the caves, defeat some monsters, an' enjoy the sweet reward of treasure." And a good grade, but whatever. "So figure out what class you wanna be from the ones we went over this session, decide who you're gonna team up with, if anyone, an' enjoy your taste of fantasy adventure!"

"Ooo," Raven said, taking a good look. "You've got taste, definitely. Do you have any full body pictures? So I can get his build? Since you want the kilt and all."

Hardison coughed a little, glad he couldn't really blush. "I, uhh, might got somethin' like that." Yeah, he had to keep flipping through his pictures. Got to one, grinned, then coughed and kept flipping. "Uhhh, this one?"

"Life goals," Raven muttered under her breath, then nodded, looked back up at Hardison, and shifted.

"How's this?"

She wasn't growly enough. And she was a couple inches too tall. But other than that, it was as spot on as usual.

"You're gonna have to drop to about 5'8," Hardison said with a small grin. "And sound a lot angrier. Kinda growl a little. And try to sound a bit Southern. And kinda grumpy about it."

"About being southern? Charming." Raven shook her head and shrank down a little. "I'll worry about the voice if you decide to do video, but otherwise, I think it's probably not too important. So. What're you thinking by way of kilt?"

"Uhhh..." Hardison wasn't sure. "You know, whatever? He looks good in gray, blue, an' black? Or a Utilikit?"

Look, he hadn't put a lot of thought into it beyond 'Eliot in a kilt.'

Raven had no idea what a 'utilikilt' was, so she just went with the only kilt image she had in her head that wasn't 'catholic school girl'.

"Okay, how's this?"

"...I, uhh, well, you know, I gotta, uhh, with the--" He coughed into his fist. "I mean, yeah, that's fine. That works. I have to--you can be Raven again now, it's cool."

Raven looked down at herself, then looked back up, shaking her hair out of her eyes. "You don't wanna take a picture?"

"Right, right," Hardison said, fumbling with his phone. "Yeah, I'mma--I'mma just take that now. Good call."

He snapped several quick pictures.

"A'ight, no, to make this hilarious--pose. Eliot hates posin' for pictures."

"What, like a pin-up girl?" Raven looked around, propped one foot up on a bench, then twisted to look back at Hardison over her shoulder. "Get a fan in here and we can a whole photoshoot."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm pretty sure there's some kinda rule about takin' cheesecake shots of my student when she's impersonatin' my boyfriend," Hardison said quickly. "I just mead, deliberately look at the camera. Smile. Acknowledge it's existence. That kinda thing."

Raven pouted a little. "Oh fine." She turned back around, setting her feet in a wide stance and resting her hands on her hips, then looked at the camera lens. "Does he smirk a lot? His face feels smirky."

"He prefers to be all growly an' grumpy alla time, but when he's not thinkin' about it, boy's smirky as all hell. He gets this little smile an' he thinks he's bein' all clever an'--" Hardison realized he was grinning again and coughed. "I mean, uhh, yeah, smirkin' is a thing he does."

"I knew it," Raven said proudly. She rolled her shoulders back and smiled. "How's this?"

"Excellent. You look happy, I'm lovin' it." He was gonna mess with Eliot! It was a great day to be Hardison. "Don't be afraid to look happier. Like, think of kittens an' puppies an' rainbows kinda happy."

Raven laughed. "Are you creating your own alternate universe boyfriend who loves cuddles?"

"Nah, I'm plannin' on usin' this for my current universe boyfriend to freak him out," Hardison said happily, because there was never a better time than when he was making Eliot swear. "Besides, as much as Eliot pretends to be all growly an' angry, he really does love puppies an' cuddles. It's great."
