Sneaking 101, Thursday

There was no Atton this week. Just Ezra. Also the Danger Shop was programmed to look like a movie theater. So if your immediate guess was that this week's session would be easy, you were absolutely one hundred percent correct.

"Hey," Ezra said, waving lazily from where he was slouched in a seat near the back. "Atton's not here, so I'm in charge. And that means we're giving the actual sneaking a pass this week. It's just as important to see what other people are doing sometimes, you know?"

He didn't know, really. He was just being lazy.

"So without further hassle, sit down and enjoy our feature presentation of the day."

Ezra nodded towards the big screen.

"Are you really saying no to the ScarJo?"

"I mean, like, I wouldn't turn her down if she showed up looking for a good time," Kathy said, "but she's not on my Celebrity Hit List." She glanced over at the screen again.

"...Chris Evans is, though," she admitted. "Still, there are tons of good movies he's in!"

"Yes," Ezra confirmed with a nod. "And this is one of them."

He was not going to be giving in on this point. Not a chance.

"...For any other reasons than because there are attractive people in it?" Kathy asked.

That was fine. Debating the so-called merits of the movie meant she wasn't watching it.

"Why would I need any other reasons?"

He was never going to be someone who care too much about plot or cinematography or anything that he didn't perceive to be directly related to whether he was entertained or not.

"So, you're cool watching anything so long as the people are hot enough?" Why was she even surprised anymore? "Is there no movie so terrible that even the hottest actors can't save it?"

"Nope," he said, slouching further back in his seat. "What can I say? I have simple tastes. And I rarely actually watch movies."

He waggled his eyebrows. In case she didn't get his point otherwise.

"Poor you, having to watch a movie in class instead of using it as background while you enjoy yourself in other ways," Kathy said, smirking at him. "However are you coping?"

"I'm doing just fine, thank you." He held up his phone. "I have extra entertainment."

"Then I guess you're not interested in bailing early?" Kathy asked with a laugh. "Aww, that's too bad. Here I was hoping to get out of watching the rest of the movie."

Ezra raised his eyebrows.

"Well, now I'm intrigued," he said. "What are the benefits of this bailing you speak of?"

Kathy blushed, likely enough of an answer for anyone who wasn't determined on being a brat.

However, since odds were good that description didn't include Ezra, she said, "Well, I'm pretty sure my roommate's not on the island again. I'm sure we could find something more fun to do than watch movies. Or play on your phone."

"Hey, I wasn't playing. I was texting." There was always someone willing to indulge his brand of wireless communication. "But other than that, I could be persuaded to skip out early."

Hey, Atton should be glad he'd even done as much as he had.

Color Kathy super-surprised to hear that's what he'd been doing.

"I need to be persuasive now?" Kathy asked, pulling out her phone and sending him a quick text of her own: I bet I can find new and interesting ways to wrap my legs around you. Look, she wasn't going to get detailed in front of their classmates!

"You don't just accept on good faith that I have a good idea?"

Ezra glanced at his phone, and smirked.

"Well I guess I could make an exception just this once..."

"You're too kind," Kathy drawled. "I'll do my best to make sure your faith in me is justified." She returned to her desk to grab her stuff, then turned back to him with an upraised eyebrow. "Coming?"

"I plan to be."

Having nothing to do with the smooth way he pulled himself up from his seat.

"Then hurry up," Kathy said, putting a little more swing into her hips as she sauntered to the door. "The faster you come now, the sooner you'll be coming later."
