Day After Doomsday, Thursday, Per 2

"Welcome to your final," Hardison said. "I never got an actual report from y'all, but just listenin' to you talk made it sound like y'all were plannin' to take the fight to those things out there. Unfortunately, you're all hungry an' pretty slow, so to represent that, I'm speedin' the monsters up a bit. They're stronger'n you an' now faster'n you by a decent clip, but you're still smarter'n them, so hopefully that'll be enough to turn the tide."

What the class didn't know was that Hardison had set up a timer for the sim; if they didn't head out and start their own attack by halfway through the class period, the monsters were going to attack the dorms. Surprise! But, hey, sometimes people needed a little kick or else they'd spend all their time planning and never get around to doing.

Okay. Okay, she could do this. She had plenty of size on her side, too, if not the momentum.

And just because they didn't dodge didn't mean she couldn't, right?

She lit one of her molotovs and waited until they were nearly on top of her, then suddenly shifted down into a rabbit, dropping the cocktail just as the cloth wick was burning down, and made a mad, leaping dash as far away as she could get it.

Maybe not her best plan, but it'd look damn impressive, right?

Well, it hadn't set it on fire, but Raven would take it. She hopped around to a nearby tree, shifted to a squirrel, scrambled up it, and leaped off a branch above the monster -- and shifted to an elephant on the way down.

It was not a trick she'd try anywhere but the Danger Shop. But she rather liked it anyway.
