Because Face was a mature person, he was not stubbornly sitting with his legs spread as far apart as physically possible and silently daring the etiquette books to do something about it.
Instead he just had his feet up on the collections desk.

Re: Talk to Face
Still if there was one thing he could do, it was thing on his feet. "Actually I have just the one," he said, nodding and shifting so he was sitting on the desk instead of leaning awkwardly over it. "It's about a warrior in training and a former actor."
Re: Talk to Face
She could sense bullshit incoming; she just was not yet aware if it would be the charming kind.
Re: Talk to Face
"Really." Face nodded. "The warrior has a bit of temper and some strange distaste for puns, but she's very brave and determined, and the actor is very charming, and they're both incredibly good-looking."
Re: Talk to Face
"And does this actor while away his days sleeping on a desk in his place of employment?" Cassandra asked. Dryly, still, though the compliment got a faint smile playing across her mouth.

Yes, you did, Cassie.

Re: Talk to Face
Perhaps she had spent too much time reading dirty fanfic of late.
"Continue."
Re: Talk to Face
"Turns out where she wanted him was on the desk, making out." Pause. "A lot."
Re: Talk to Face
Never mind that she'd just done it...

"I suppose he could try that," Face said.
Re: Talk to Face
She also liked him, though, which was why she kissed him again. Well done, Face.
Re: Talk to Face
On the other hand, kissing he could deliver in spades without things getting weird.
Re: Talk to Face
Or at least a pragmatist who knew she could easily totally not manhandle him if she needed to.
She made a little happy noise against his mouth, putting her hands on the desk for stability.
Re: Talk to Face
One hand braced against the desk, Face reached up with the other to cup the back of her head.
Re: Talk to Face
Had Cassandra noted earlier that Garik had a very nice mouth? And now the nearby warmth of his hand made the skin on the back of her neck tingle pleasantly.
She sighed, and tried to move in closer. Unfortunately, there was a desk.
Re: Talk to Face
There was a solution to the desk problem. Face swung his legs and shifted over the desk so he was now sitting on the edge closest to her. Somehow he managed to do this without breaking the kiss.
He'd have a lot of points in DEX, basically.
Re: Talk to Face
"Very smooth," she sighed. It had been intended as a mockery, but it didn't quite come out that way.
Re: Talk to Face
Face grinned and bumped his nose against hers. "I try my best."
Re: Talk to Face
She knew her strength well enough not to shove him off the desk, but still.
