Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could soak up that precious vitamin D, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool.

All of the tables had at least a little glitter on them though. It was a welcoming gesture to get glitter someplace you didn't know glitter could go!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"You're not teaching this term," Irene observed, wandering over. "Too much going on in New York?"

"Nope, I just worked my ass off for an entire school year so I'm giving myself a break till fall," Kitty said. "So now I'm down to two, technically three jobs."

"Good girl," Irene said, smiling. "Like a proper teacher. I ought to have thought to have taken the summer off."

Because working once a week was so hard.

"You always have second session if you really want it," Kitty pointed out. "What're you teaching this time?"

"Sexual Safety," Irene told her. "STD-prevention, a little self-defense and no-means-no stuff, stretches that'll keep you from pulling anything -- that sort of thing. I'm hoping it'll be fairly fun, at least?"

And, you know, informative and mind-bogglingly embarrassing for the kids at times, but that was Irene's style.

"Making people blush is the best part of my job," Irene assured her. "Jobs, really. And not just kids."

As Kitty well knew from all that helpful shopping and all.
