Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could soak up that precious vitamin D, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool.

All of the tables had at least a little glitter on them though. It was a welcoming gesture to get glitter someplace you didn't know glitter could go!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Hanna had so little idea of what 'normal' consisted of, she just accepted everyone's baseline as the average.

"Velcro was Sparkle's. But he couldn't take his kitten to his new home. Too many people who had allergies, he said." She smiled a little shyly. "And he really didn't have a lot of time to ask anyone else, so of course I offered to keep him. So far it's been lovely to have him there... I signed up for, hmm. Miss Adler's class on Friday, about sexuality. The driving class. And something about the apocalypse, on Thursday?"

Might as well be prepared, right?

"Oh, you got Velcro?" That made Kathy feel better, yes. "I know he was worried about what to do with him. That's so good to hear."

She looked a little shame-faced. "I feel like I should have volunteered, but my parents would never let me bring a pet home, so I'd have a little more than a year before I had to do the same thing and that just seemed unfair."

So, yeah, really relieved that Hanna had stepped up for that.

"I'm in Ms. Adler's class, too!" she said. "And driving, because LA public transportation kinda sucks." She hoped they'd be covering motorcycles, too. No reason. "And the post-apocalypse class taught by Mr. Hardison? I didn't sign up for that--" what need did Kathy had for learning to survive an apocalypse? "--but he's really nice. He's dating Ms. Parker and Mr. Spencer. I'm TAing for them this year."
