Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were tables and chairs set up all around the lawn. Some were in the sun, where folks could soak up that precious vitamin D, and some were in the shade where folks could stay cool.

All of the tables had at least a little glitter on them though. It was a welcoming gesture to get glitter someplace you didn't know glitter could go!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Stupid mandatory government testings?"

Stop repeating everything. That wasn't even Dear Old Dad's voice. That was his own voice. He pursed his lips.

"We don't have those where I'm from. Sounds like the world's worst type of standardized testing, though."

"Home-schooled," Ada said with shrug. "So every year they make you take a test to show you memorized the stupid shit they think is important, and if you fail the social services people start fussing, and that's a whole batch of nonsense I don't want to deal with."

"Do they not test you on that stuff in townie schools?" she asked. "Or wherever you're from? That doesn't seem fair."

"I wasn't home schooled so maybe?" He shrugged. "We've got tests and crap but I never thought of them as government issued."

Though, after some thought, he supposed that those tests were actually government issued since schools were under local government jurisdiction. He shook his head, wondering why he was thinking so deeply about that?

"I dunno, I just don't see why governments wanna know if I can spell satellite right."
