Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The last picnic for new arrivals had involved a bonfire, but there was no need for artificial warmth today. The weather outside was sunny, and just breezy enough that no one would roast, hopefully. There were tables and chairs arranged around the lawn, along with a long table of food, drinks, and desserts for anyone who stopped by.

There were stacks of nametags for people to label themselves with, and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything in order, it was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Having to share a room with only one person? That was more personal space than Tali might have had in her entire life, so she was not going to be one of the people complaining about being assigned a roommate.

. . . for all that anyone might have been able to tell whether she was unhappy about it, anyway.

Her nametag was stuck carefully on the front of her suit, and from her body language it would have been a fairly good guess that she was trying to find someone.

Jalian had an easier time than some in finding her roommate - she just had to look for the other person whose name had a hard time fitting on the nametag.

"Ah!" She looked her new roommate over and smiled in welcome and curiosity. "Hello - you are Tali'Zorah nar Rayyah? I am Jalian d'Arsennette y ken Selvren; we are to be roommates." She cocked her head. "I had thought you would be a human person. Will you be comfortable in a flat bed and open room?"
