Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The last picnic for new arrivals had involved a bonfire, but there was no need for artificial warmth today. The weather outside was sunny, and just breezy enough that no one would roast, hopefully. There were tables and chairs arranged around the lawn, along with a long table of food, drinks, and desserts for anyone who stopped by.

There were stacks of nametags for people to label themselves with, and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything in order, it was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"And I'm Mabel!" ... Also not for the pig's benefit. Obviously. "And you know what that means?"

She was leaning a bit sideways, her grin growing wide.

"ROOMIES!"

She managed, somehow, to hold up one hand for a high-five while also supporting he pig. Mabel did this sort of thing a lot.

You bet Eric was gonna take that high-five action! "I think we'll get along just fine," he confided in her, some of that oh my god rooming with a girl nervousness disappating a bit. Just a bit. Still plenty of nervousness to go around.

Yes! A roomie who high-fived! Perfect!

"Firmly in favor. Used correctly, they definitely add pizazz."

"I'm a figure skater," Eric admitted, finally making that narrative dialogue. "It's kind of part and parcel with the whole sport."

"Eee! Really? A skater?! That's amazing!"

Everything was amazing. Everything.

"Do you compete? Do you wear spangles? Ohmygosh, this is awesome!"

Eric grinned. Coming from a small town where pretty much everything centered around the football team, it wasn't often he had people appreciating his own sport. So he liked to enjoy it.

"Yes, of course, to both of those. I mean, I didn't really bring anything with me because I'm not really doing any of that this summer..." he shrugged. But there was always Google!

It was difficult to bounce and clap and hold a pig, but Mabel had plenty of experience in all three, and somehow it worked out.
