School Auditorium: MSND rehearsal (4-7 PM FHT)

There are snacks and assorted beverages on a table to the side, and the house lights are up.

The stage lighting is still a little beyond Rory, so the simple overhead fluorescents will have to do for the day.

And by the door, there's a sign-in sheet.

Actors? Your stage awaits.

"Oh" Blair sighed and grinned. "That's...like way better, man. Maybe I will go see him!"

"You aren't experiencing anything weird, are you?"

There was no way in hell Nadia was telling Blair she could fart helium.

"No. No, I'm not."

"That's good. I'd be sad if you had something weird or scary happening to you." He tugged on another curl and stretched it down to his waist and absently tied it into a knot.

Nadia stared in stunned fascination at the hair antics.

*fffrrrt*

Oh god, no. She smiled silently, hoping Blair wouldn't notice.

Blair noticed but decided to be a gentleman and focus on other things. ^{"So do you think we'll have to wear tights?"} He stopped and gulped. ^{"Uh, what? Is that my voice?"}

Nadia shrugged.

And looked about for an escape route.

She really hoped Bridge figured out what was causing all this soon.

^"Huh." Blair shrugged and started singing. ^{"I'm a little teapot, short and stout, here is my handle, here is my..."} With a cough, he went back to his regular voice. "Spout!"

"Aww, man. I didn't even get to the pouring out part!"

"^{I'm sure}" Nadia cleared her throat. "I'm sure you'll get another chance."

There has to be another change of subject around here, somewhere. . . .

"Have you ever acted before?"

"Was that...um...you?" Blair blushed and looked up at the ceiling of the stage.

"Not really, nope."

"Was what me?" asked Nadia innocently. "I'm sure you'll do fine."

"That whole..." Blair wondered if maybe the hair thing was hurting his brain. "Um, never mind."

Nadia looked at Blair with mock concern. "Okay,"

Yes! Got away with it!

Okay, there was a teeny bit of guilt over making Blair think he was imagining things . . . but that would soon fade, she was sure.

Blair nodded and sat on the edge of the stage, muttering quietly and trying to get his voice all high again.

Aaaaaaaany minute now the guilt would fade.

Didn't she lecture him for not being honest?

Aw, crap.

She went over and sat next to him.

"Yeah," she said. "It was me."

"The squeaky voice thing?" Blair looked up hopefully.

. . .

"Yes."

Blair thought for a minute. "Did it have anything to do with..." He waved his hands and bounced which in freshman sign language meant 'thing which we can't say outloud because it will lead to embarrasement and giggles'.

Nadia blushed furiously. "It's quite possibly the dumbest 'power' ever."

Blair nodded. "I have to admit that it seems...odd. But you're speaking to a guy who has bungy cord hair. I'm not exactly sure what the purpose of that power is either."

Nadia's hand twitched to spring one of Blair's curls, but she stopped it at the last moment. "I don't know, I think there's some uses there,"

Blair grinned and scooted closer to Nadia. "Go ahead, it doesn't hurt or anything."

Nadia couldn't help it. The sproingy hair was almost hypnotising. She pulled one out as far as it was go . . . which was really VERY far . . . and let go. It bounced across in front of Blair, then back to her, then in front of Blair several times before finally settling down.

"Wow. Does it still do that if you cut it?"

[ooc: ZOMG! Hairmodder! I'm telling!]

"I tried cutting it, the scissors just stretch it out and can't cut through." Blair shuddered briefly. "The guy at the clinic suggested lighting it on fire."

Nadia frowned. "Well, I've got that blow torch if you wanted to try it. I don't know if I would recommend that, though."

Blair clamped his hands over his head. "No way, man. My head is happy being fire-free!"
