Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2015, Early Saturday Evening [Part 2]

As the last new graduate sat down with their diploma, a roaring noise could be heard in the distance. The noise quickly got louder, and then it wasn't so distant at all as dragons began to swarm around the lawn.

Some of the dragons were real, with scales and tails and fire in their breath. Following in their wake were smaller, squishier dragons, in a variety of tasty jello flavors.

As the dragons descended upon the graduates, the Fandom graduation protocols kicked in, and an invisible barrier came down to separate the graduates from the rest of the audience.

Good luck, graduates. Hopefully there were some brave knight types among you!

He was so proud of that.

"I'm trained well," Sia said. "And at least it kept the ceremony from getting too boring."

"Does this happen a lot?" Four asked. "Because I want to prepare for next year."

"Every year," Sia confirmed. "Come armed."

Four nodded. "I'm glad you're all right."

"Thank you. I'm more impressed I survived three years," Sia admitted.

"Me too," Four said. "This place is nuts, and not always in a charming way. Why'd you stay the whole time?"

"It wasn't safe back home," she said. "But since they're going to kick me out of here now that I've graduated, there's no excuse to keep me here for my own good."

"It is safer there than it was? Or at least not full of dragons?" Four asked.

"It's definitely not full of dragons," Sia said. "Safer otherwise, no."

Four's lips pressed together, looking a little worried despite his best efforts. "And when do you go back?"

"Sometime this week. I'm not sure on the exact date yet. I have to find out where I'm meeting my father first," she said. She wasn't entirely thrilled about that when it came to Four, no.

"He couldn't make it today?" Four asked, glancing around.

"He's currently in the middle of a warzone," Sia frowned. "I've decided that's an acceptable reason to miss this."

Not that she was exactly worried, because her dad was a badass.

Four's eyes went wide. "Yeah, I'd think so," he agreed. "Are you worried about him?"

"Some. I worry more about the people who cross him," she answered.

"He's been a fighter a long time?" Four asked.

"His whole life," she shrugged. "That's a thing in my family."
