Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2015, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area. There were blue and gold streamers flapping peacefully in the breeze, and of course, the makeshift paths were covered in glitter.

Look, if the supply wasn't going down, Zoe was just going to embrace the glitter madness for the sake of her own personal sanity.

Congratulations, Class of 2015! You made it to graduation day! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. At least nothing looked oddly out of place this year?

Barry hadn't spent much attention on the entire ceremony. He was too busy monitoring an important experiment back in the lab on his phone. Except for cheering for a couple of people he knew, when his name came up it took a moment for him to realize that he needed to go up and accept his diploma.

When he did he smiled, waved and then went back to his seat and looking at his phone again.

Barry had earned himself a smile and a wave back from the pale girl sitting close to the exit. And then more clapping. Polite clapping.

Loud, polite clapping.

If there was a little cheer, well, Elsa would deny it forever. She was a lady, thank you very much.

Nathan wasn't going to forget Barry's kind gestures to him so he cheered and clapped and smiled when Barry's name was called.

Hopefully in that brief moment of glancing up, Barry spotted Kathy and her sign, brightly painted and covered in glitter, that said "YER A GRADUATE BARRY!" Because Kathy thought she was funny, obviously.

And there were little be-glittered Erlenmeyer flasks and bunsen burners around his name because Barry.

Barry might not have ever been one of Jono's students, but that hardly mattered. There was a special place reserved in Jono's esteem for people who had given his students and his friends as much as Barry had. He got a rousing round of applause when it was his turn to get his diploma all the same.

Barry had always seemed like a cool guy, so he got some extra-loud cheers because why not.
