Self Defense, Thursday, Period One

Upon entering the Danger Shop, the students would find themselves confronted with a long brick hallway, at the end of which was a door, in front of which stood one solitary guard. Leaning against the brick wall a little closer by was a casual-looking (if slightly hungover and supporting a few scratches in the facial area) Atton.

"So, this is your final," he said. "Get past this guy, then deal with whatever comes next. You can use whatever tools you have at your disposal: fight, talk, stealth your way through, I don't care. Just make it out to the other side, and you're good."

He nodded at the class. "Go."

Alana started with a "Hi, can you let me by? It's important."

The guard was unmoved.

So Alana kicked him hard in the shins, grabbed for the doorknob while he was distracted, and ran into the maze as fast as she could. It wasn't an elegant solution, but it worked.

A Maze of Pathways

Past the door, the area opens up into an urban maze, full of walls and dumpsters and stairwells. Walk a little further down into it, and someone approaches you with a gun from behind, demanding your valuables.

Deal with them.

Pandemonium!

Once you dispose of the mugger, all hell breaks loose: there's a firefight going on, with people firing from both your left and your right.

They're not aiming for you, specifically, but it's probably a good idea to find some cover. Did you grab the mugger's gun? You might be able to use it.

Or maneuver well from cover to cover, through the maze. After a set amount of time - five minutes, not that anyone will tell you that - of movement, you'll find an alley marked with a neon 'HERE' sign.

Run towards that 'HERE' sign! Go go go!

... as the street suddenly dips down and sends you tumbling.

Into a soft mat, as it turns out, but you probably don't know that going in.

Thus speaketh the sign above the door in front of you, which leads back to the hallway from the beginning.
