Library, 3/1

Zero tacked a little handmade sign she'd made to the library doors as she opened up:

Zero is here. You may have to look for her a bit.

Then she plonked herself down behind the desk with a cup of coffee.

"Water into Nyquil? Is this another one of those weird powers Zero was talking about? Okay, that's kinda gross." He grimaced and stuck a pencil in between the pages he was reading to mark his place. "Okay, yeah, you've got it way busier than me . . . wait, stirrups?"

Parker's slow smirk would worry anyone. "Yes, that's one of the weird powers. And one of the 'anonymous' researchers for the Pirate Radio got bored last night, and speculated on what you and Cally were doing. Poor Archie had to read it on air before he realized they were joking, and was not amused. At all."

Anders couldn't possibly have looked more horrified. "I never listen to radio on Tuesdays . . . Kennedy was saying that stuff about me and Cally on the air? Lords, of all nights. I am so gonna kill him -- not that it's true!" he hastened to add.

"Relax, Daisy. He was equally pissed. Just reading the script, stumbling on that little tidbit, then threatening to kill the anonymous source. I doubt he had any more interest in you did in having it broadcast. Someone behind the scenes has a warped sense of humor." She cocked an eyebrow at him. "Cut Kennedy some slack. He's hurting over Jaye at the moment. Even reading that you and Cally were just watching TV didn't make him any happier."

"So Tyler really ditched him." Anders would normally be only too happy to verbally kick Archie while he was down, but there were some people in whose presence you didn't do that, and he at least had the sense to figure Parker would be one of them. "Guess it was sorta out of line for me to make fun of him for that. Those radio notes really are weird, though."

He didn't mention that he was relieved that the TV-watching was the only thing that had made it on the air. Because while there were no stirrups involved -- and he was still puzzling out the mechanics of that -- well, Kennedy speculating on his sex life was still something he wanted to avoid. Still . . .

"I am so gonna be fielding questions about this now, huh?"

"Oh, yeah. I'd say so. Mostly from people asking, 'how do you...?'" Parker shrugged. "Which is none of their business, so tell 'em to look it up." She grimaced. "Yeah, Kennedy's not real happy. Jaye's flinging with Cameron, since they're both not ready for anything else. I feel for him, really." She shook her head. "Are those notes just waiting for you when you get to the radio studio, or what? Because I thought some of you guys were checking surveillance tapes or something, but it sounds like that's not the case."

Anders shrugged. "Don't know. I mostly just hung out with Bridge a couple times while he was doin' it, and that one time with Jaye and all those other people. And it's mostly just notes that we get. I really don't get how the whole information source thing goes. And yeah . . . I guess I can afford to cut him some slack for a while. Not like me and Cally didn't sorta have an incident the other day ourselves, and I didn't think I could ever be that miserable."

"You did?" Parker looked surprised. "Really. I thought you guys got along perfectly. I'm amazed."

"Most of the time, yeah, but cut us some slack, Parker," he told her with a bit of a chuckle. "We're only human, y'know. I just said something that got her a little upset, she ran off for a few hours, and I guess she was gonna find somewhere else to sleep for the night. But she came home and woke me up, and it's been okay ever since, really."
