US Government (Wednesday, March 1, 4th period)

"Greeeetings!" Sam the Eagle was perched at the front of the class. He was trying to look all official and proper, but ended up looking quite constipated. "Boys and girls, it is I - Sam the American Eagle. I would just like to say a few words about reading the federal budget today. You see, budgeting is the American way! All good Americans budget. And today, fine, upstanding students attending an American school, I - Sam the American Eagle - will teach you a few things about reading the budget made by the American government.

First of all - do not read it. The federal budget is none of your concern, children. You should let the American government handle the hows and whys of money spending and be glad that money is being spent on you at all. Many significant and intellectual people come together to make the budget for the American people. They are much smarter than you. They know what they are doing. Trust in your government! Read only what you need to read and complain about not getting enough money for your pet project. But know that very smart people were arguing behind doors, probably nude, to get the job done. And a magnificent job it is indeed.

This is Sam the American Eagle telling you to love the American government, trust that it loves you and do not forget to study for your midterm on Friday."

There's a big, blue talking bird at the front of the classroom. John makes a note to get more sleep, eat more fiber and be nice to birds from now on.

Alphonse probably would have been paying attention and noticed the wierd blue bird at the front of the room had he not been reading his book so intently. Yay, book.

Peter started to take notes, then switched to doodling because there was NO WAY this was going to be on the test.

And even if it was on the test? It wasn't too hard to remember.

Peter thought for a minute before jotting down a few ideas and tossing the note back.

Have you pretended to be Skeeter's daughter yet? Or her mother? Or Ricardo, the cabana boy who ruined their marriage?

The witch community probably knows about the Queen, right? There's one you could probably have fun with.

Angela nudged Marty with her foot. "Think he's a friend of Camilla's?" she asked, sotto voce.

"I don't know. He's got that same kind of feathery look to him," Marty whispered back. "Is it just me or do those eyebrows freak you out too?"

"He seems patriotic at least. But why would smart people be talking behind closed doors in the nude?" Marty asked. "I guess after having Camilla for so long a talking eagle isn't that big of a deal."

Elizabeth was trying not to laugh all the way through the lecture.

She was less amused when he suggested that they might be nude, and shuddered. Ew. That was a mental image she really didn't need.

Nude budget meetings? Not hardly. Although it would have made things more interesting.

Duo eyes the big, blue talking bird warily and takes notes, since he really doesn't want to find out what happens when you piss off a big, blue talking bird that appears to be made out of felt.

Kawalsky was a little dumbfounded about the fact that there was a big, talking muppet eagle at the front of the class. He was more dumbfounded about the eagle's eyebrows. They were scary.
