Self Defense, Thursday, February 5th

"Atton has been unavoidably detained," Anakin said, sweeping into the classroom five minutes late. "I'm Anakin Skywalker, the dean of students and a fellow Jedi--" Atton wasn't there to squawk about the title, so neener, neener Atton, "--and so today we're going to do some important self-defense work."

If you noticed that the Danger Shop looked a little like a running track, well, it's okay to have a bad feeling about that.

"You cannot defend yourself if you cannot, when it matters, run away from the problem faster than the person chasing you can catch you. Therefore, laps."

Ugh, Anakin, you're the worst.

"Sprint the first lap. I'll add hurdles to the second lap and pits and other obstacles the third. Try not to twist an ankle."

Thanks, Anakin.

Travis really didn't want to run but he did. He ran as fast as he could and was really, really glad Jeremy Pratt's body was built as good as it was.

Running, Sparkle could handle. What he couldn't handle was not knowing what the hell was keeping Atton. It was well past Tuesday, damn it.

So, Sparkle was looking maybe more than a tiny bit concerned as he started running the first lap.

Vider would argue it was more important to run smart than to run fast, but then, Vider used to play tag with Loki.

Whatever, running was required of her, so she was running.

Um, Minako was going to warm up first, thanks, because she was a professional athlete -- or an aspiring one -- and knew that just jumping in would be a disaster by the final lap. But she'd never been so glad that she'd started wearing short yoga pants and her volleyball top to class with her trainers.

A few stretches, her hair pulled back into a ponytail, and Minako was off, swift enough to make-up for her delayed start.
