Political Campaigning (Tuesday, February 28, 4th Period)

Angel was in front of the classroom again. He might've looked slightly intimidated.

"Okay," he said. "I've made a change to the schedule. Instead of talking about fundraising pyramids today, we'll be talking about it on Thursday with special guest speaker Doug Sanders, a - " Angel read off of a printout he'd brought with him " - interdimensionally renouned expert in self-actualizing your potential through synergistic multi-level exponential flow cooperatives."

Angel looked as though he had no idea what the hell that meant, but hoped it sounded impressive to the class. "Yeah. So. Anyway, Doug offered to waive his fee so long as he could have what he called 'an eager and hungry audience' so feel free to bring guests in on Thursday if you want."

Angel then gave everyone two handouts. "Today's class is on event planning. This one'll be real easy. Read through the handouts then let's talk as a group about what we think our campaigns would do to form fundraising events. What are our goals? How can we achieve them? You know, that. Oh, and - "

Angel pointed at Callisto. "How many days left until the election?"

Parker read the hand-outs, outlining them as she went, making notes (not on Friday night, don't break the law, say thank-you), then frowned.

"'Self-actualizing your potential'? Are you serious?"

"That's what it said on the website," Angel said. He looked like he didn't get it either.

"Is this some kind of feel-good guru of a California scam artist that you've booked?" Parker asked suspiciously. "What is it that he does, exactly?"

"He is not from - " Angel read the print-out again. "Oh. Huh. He is from California. Go fig."

And vaguely wonders why Jake has not killed her yet, though maybe he was letting her live in the name of mutual adoration of coffee.

"Those were his words," Angel said. "He seemed really into it though. Especially when I told him who I was."

"He'd heard of you, personally? Or did you drop Professor Lyman's name? 'Cause isn't he like the Deputy Chief of Staff, or something?" Rory asked, frowning.

Angel really wanted to say that it had been his name that did it. But now that Rory was asking him his memory was fuzzy.

"Um, it might've been Prof. Lyman's name."

[Ah, misread. Logan's meant to be looking at the Doug Sanders thing - so maybe he's looking over Angel's shoulder? Or snatched it away from him? I dunno.]

Elizabeth slipped slightly next to Logan on her way to sit down. She placed a hand out to steady herself, grabbing Logan's shoulder.

"Sorry," she apologized.
