This week around, the Danger Shop had been set up to resemble Fandom. Hey, the sim was in the system, might as well make as much use of it as possible, right?

Atton himself came stomping in more or less on time. "Okay," he yelled, "I had an entire conversation with my mirror this morning that was about as embarrassing as it was traumatizing, which means the island is being a--" ...string of mean Twi'lekki words, apparently, "--and I don't want to deal with it because all of my defense mechanisms are built on a network of carefully constructed lies."

Beat.

"Ugh."

He slapped a blaster onto a table of other blasters.

"So, instead of starting off with the fighting moves I had planned, today, we're shooting things. Silently. Grab one, grab a friend, work on your reflexes."

He pointed at Sparkle. "You, come see me after class, I have something for you. Don't ask questions. That's good advice for everyone here today, actually."

He smashed his fist down on a red button and not entirely realistic-looking monsters suddenly spawned all over town. There.

"Try not to tell your cat anything incriminating," Atton said sagely. "Squirrels get in everywhere, it's a pain in the ass. Or it was, until I got those Force powers working."

"I bet," Sparkle snorted. "I usually just bribe the squirrels with rum. I'm not above offering, and they're not above accepting, even if it is kind of a waste of perfectly good booze that I mostly just steal in the first place."

"Oh, I did that, too," Atton said, "Good use for all that booze I wasn't drinking."

Beat.

"Yeah, you should probably go."

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. We can touch base another time. I'm, like, free... whenever. Except Friday and Sunday, because I think I'm actually going to try to get real work in this semester before I graduate, for once."

...

He wrinkled his nose.

"I hope you don't get stuck in too many shitty conversations today, man."

"I'm going to go by Skywalker's office to drop off the bottle of whiskey he seems to need after that radio broadcast," Atton volunteered. "After that, I'm locking myself in my apartment with that pizza I've still got in the fridge. Unless Mical calls."

Eugh.

"Eugh, Mical. Best of luck with that one. If you get called away and need somebody to go and be brutally and annoyingly honest about his plumbing skills, though, I might be able to drag my ass out of my room for that."

What? It would be funny.

"In the meantime," he gave an irreverent little wave of his hand. "Take care, man."

Atton rolled his eyes, but waved back. "Run off to that room of yours," he said. "As fast as you can."
