The Library - Monday

Barry wasn't up for the Libraries usual shenanigans today. Especially when it came to dealing with the self-help and the etiquette books who seemed to keep dropping off the shelves with oh-so-helpful and topical titles.

So Barry was ignoring them and sitting behind the desk as he supervised some of his experiments remotely with his tablet.

And occasionally shouting at the books to re-shelve themselves.

Barry turned to look at Bob and gave him a shrug. "No. But at least they know I'm not putting up with their bullshit. Can I help you?"

"Do you have any books comparing magic between the different worlds?" Bob asked. "Or maybe a survey of the types that exist?"

"Yeah but I couldn't tell you if it would be any use for you or not," Barry said gesturing towards the magic section. "Because all that magic shit makes no fucking sense to me."

"Are those books as helpful as these?" Bob asked. That might make this much easier.

"Well these books might like you if you're polite and shit and don't drop an f-bomb every other word. But I doubt they'll tell you anything about magic."

"Do you think the magic ones will jump out at me if I tell them what I'm looking for?"

"I don't know. The magic books are a mysterious lot. They'll probably just stay where they are. Now if you insult them they'll probably throw themselves at you. But not in a good way."

Bob sighed. "In that case, I don't suppose you've got the time to get one or two down for me? I'd love to have you turn the pages, but I don't imagine that's in your job description."
