Faculty Meeting (Friday after classes)

After the student council cleared out, Zoe got the council room set up for yet another meeting, hoping all the teachers had gotten her handwavey email. Sure, classes had only been in session for a week, but she figured it was a good idea to check the new teachers for shell shock early. There were warm food and drinks set out (not the leftovers from the student council... at least, not totally) but nothing alcoholic. If people wanted to go that route, they would have to bring their own this time.

"Hello there, come on in and have a seat if you'd like," she said. "I thought it might be good for everyone to have a chance to get together without students around, and be inside where it's warm. I hope everyone's had a good first week. If you haven't, well, now you have a room full of people to vent to." It was the little things that helped make this job better.

"What are you teaching? Eliot said your teaching buddy was Derek."

Pinkie laughed. "Derek's not my teaching buddy, silly, he's my teaching partner. He's my bestest human friend so we teach about friendship through super fun activities like cake decorating!" DID YOU KNOW FRIENDSHIP COULD BE DELICIOUS, PARKER? DID YOU? "I have looooooads of teaching buddies. I'm always the first to volunteer to help out the new teachers every semester!"

"Ohhhhhhh." Right! "That's Eliot over there." Pointing him out. Then grinning. "You should go tell him about all that, too. CAKE." Whoa, that was loud. "YES. SEE. You agree with me that we should give that to the students, right?" RIGHT? BECAUSE TEACHING WAS DELICIOUS, WASN'T IT?

"We've met!" Pinkie said. "I said we should go out to lunch sometime but I don't think he was very interested. He's real quiet. His cutie mark would be an empty speech bubble. Or a face like this." And she made an uncannily accurate pony face version of the ಠ_ಠ emoticon. "As for cakes, I think it's usually way more fun if the students can make them themselves? But every party deserves a cake." And a class was always a party, right?

Okay, that had Parker cracking up and laughing loudly enough to draw attention, because that face was Uncannily Eliot. She took another photo of that to send to Hardison.

"Yes! ... well, our class is Creative Problem Solving. So it can't be cake-making. Although I guess you could have problems with cake? But they liked jumping off things."

You were going to have lunch with a pony sometime, Eliot. Oh yes.

A buzz of a text from Hardison, sent to Eliot as well:

Eliot looked at that text, sighed, and put his phone back in his pocket.

Really, at some point Hardison would have to get used to the whole "this island makes no sense" thing.

Pinkie was beaming. She lived to make people laugh and smile. Like, literally. It was her actual entire purpose in life. "Well sure they do!" she exclaimed. "Jumping off things is super duper fun!"

She was thinking, like, picnic tables. Not towers.

"We are so going to get along," Parker decided, buoyed by how much in common they had. Making friends had always been hard for her, because people were so weird. It was like she met someone from her home planet here, with Pinkie. YAY.
