"Welcome to class," Tony said once he was pretty sure the trickle of students was finished. "I know, I know. Monday mornings aren't really my thing either. Bring a lot of coffee. Maybe some for me if you want extra credit."

And, let's be honest, he'd probably drink it all if each student brought in an extra cup fir him. Coffee was part of the scientific process, you see.

"Today's easy because I don't know who all--well most of you are. We'll have to change that and hope it sticks. Try to be memorable."

Tony went to the board before frowning at the fact that there was chalk there. He was going to have to bring in his own toys for next week. But he soldiered on, writing out: 'name', 'why are you here?', and 'favorite piece of tech?'

Then he took a step back to make sure that's all he wanted to ask before putting the chalk down and wiping the dust off on his pants. "I'll go first, I'm Tony Stark. Some of you might know me and I might know you. It's hit or miss so far. I'm here to teach. And I have to say my favorite piece of tech, other than my suit, is my phone."

Both of which he made, so. Grain of salt, kids.

"I'm Johnny Storm, flame on," Johnny said casually as he stood up so as not to burn his desk. What? Tony wanted memorable. "I'm here because I have a bet with my sister to see if I retained anything from all of my science tutoring over the years. I'm betting no, but if I do well, I'll get a prototype car designed by someone at the Baxter Building. And my favorite piece of tech is that car that I want so badly. Flame off."

"Well, if it's Reed designing it, I'm sure it'll be destroyed after it's stolen by the mole people or something ridiculous," Tony replied. Because his Reed wasn't crazy or evil.

That he knew of.

"Hi, Johnny."

Right now, neither was Johnny's. As far as he knew.

"Reed's gone right now, after the thing with Magneto and Doom that happened a bit ago. Or maybe hasn't happened for you. Or maybe won't," Johnny said. "Alternate realities, amirite? Anyway, Sue dumped and fired him."

"Doom and Magneto? That's a bomb just waiting to go off in everyone's face." A beat. "Wait, Sue dumped him?"

"He went after Doom instead of helping Ben save Sue and me from tiny robots and demons, which was kind of a deal breaker," Johnny said. "Dude was always an ass anyway."

An eventually-super-evil ass.

"That... does not sound like the Reed I know."

Who was even more of a magical Sue than Tony was.

"Reeds can be really different," Johnny said. "I met one who's a zombie. Of course, my Reed ende up bringing him and the Zombie FF to my world. Good times."

"I'm assuming for science?"

"He went there for science and they used his portal to come to our world for lunch," Johnny said. "It worked out awesome."

"And that's why we only try to steal Sue for the Avengers," Tony replied.

"What's an Avenger?" Johnny askd. "Don't you mean the Ultimates?"

"...what's an Ultimate?"

"You and Thor and Captain America," Johnny said. "The best of the best, except for me. You know. The Ultimates." See what they did there with that name? It was also a compliment.

Tony snorted at that, but was more than okay accepting the compliment. "Yeah, not where I'm from. We go by The Avengers. Jan came up with it and it sorta stuck."

Because Tony made them all special Avengers Members Cards. And probably got all the trademarks ready.

"Avengers," Johnny repeated to himself. "Sounds kind of dark and gritty."

"And Ultimates sounds like a kid's cartoon."

BAH DUM CHING.

And Ultimate Avengers would be a set of terrible animated movies. Or Mark Millar going over the top gritty.... More over the top.

"Eh, I'm not an Ultimate. I've got no stake in this fight," Johnny shrugged. "But I'd probably watch that cartoon as a kid."

"Good," Tony replied. "Because you're my teaching assistant."

"Wait, what?" Johnny asked. "You know this is a science class, right? And I'm me?"

"It'll be fun!" For Tony.

"It's your fault if I blow up the class," Johnny acquiesced. Which was not a word that he knew.
