Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were chairs and tables set up all across the lawn; some were by the bonfire, for the people who wanted to be warm and central to everything else at the picnic, and some were set farther away from the action, for the people who wanted more peace and quiet.

There was no escaping the glitter though. Sorry, but not really.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Mara's eyes were a little wide as the Force thrummed around her enough to notice Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kriffing Kenobi having a tense conversation half a park away from her.

She was going to stay over here.

"Hi, is everything going okay?" Alana asked when she wandered by, following Mara's gaze to the spot where Skywalker and some other robe guy were having what looked like an intense conversation. "You look sort of ... out of it."

"Just a bad feeling," Mara said, shivering slightly. "Adults arguing seldom leads anywhere good."

"Well, you're right about that,"Alana agreed, raising her eyebrows emphatically. "Why would they be fighting? The other guy just got here."

"Well in my timeline, they're both dead, so maybe it has something to do with that?" Mara suggested.

"I can see where coming back from the dead would make you cranky," Alana nodded. "Especially if you ran into some other dude you thought was dead."

Mara nodded. "I've never had that happen to me, but it sounds pretty awkward."

"Definitely not the kind of thing my mom ever told me how to deal with," Alana nodded. "I guess you either fight, or turn it into one giant joke and then never speak again."

"I'm not sure those two know how to joke," Mara replied, tilting her head.

"I've had a couple classes with Skywalker, and I don't think I've ever caught him at it," Alana said thoughtfully. "But he has to have a sense of humor somewhere, right? Like, he didn't get it surgically removed?"
