Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were chairs and tables set up all across the lawn; some were by the bonfire, for the people who wanted to be warm and central to everything else at the picnic, and some were set farther away from the action, for the people who wanted more peace and quiet.

There was no escaping the glitter though. Sorry, but not really.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Glitter on black clothing was a huge pain, and Four was distracted from his chocolate cake with his efforts to get it off of his leather jacket.

"So there is glitter," Anna observed, having spotted his leather jacket. Okay, there was glitter other places, too, but none of them drew the eyes the way Hot Guy in a Leather Jacket did. "The one telepathic guy said there would be, on the bus, but he was kidding! The bus here, I mean. There wasn't any. Glitter. I guess it was just here?"

This was all very intelligent sounding and definitely making a brilliant first impression.

"Hi."

"Hi," Four said, arching up an eyebrow. "There's always glitter around here. I'm Four."

"It's almost as if you don't like glitter," Sia said with a tiny smile.

She totally had it on her, too, but she was trying not to think about it too much.

"I'm very intuitive," she said. "You know you're just going to accumulate more."

Four sighed. "Yes, but I don't have to pretend I'm happy about it."

"If you did, I would begin checking you for gremlin bites," Sia said. Which, you know, could be fun.

Four smirked slightly. "Thoroughly, no doubt."

"It's the only way to be sure," she said evenly.

"I'd give it up if I were you," Kaylin said dryly. "It's not going to come off."

The sandwich she was eating wasn't quite big enough to hide the bruise on her face, but it was close.

"I can be hopeful, right?" Four replied. "What happened to your face?"

"Just don't get it in your food," she warned. "Or mine."

And then her face broke into a smile. "Training. Got the face thing and a gash in my leg, sure, but the sergeant told me I wasn't a total waste of space and that's high praise from him!"

Four nodded. "I've had a few of those teachers."

He was one of those teachers.

She'd known he would understand. "Aren't they wonderful? You sort of have to hate them while you're in the middle of being beat on, but when they give you that nod, you know for sure you've done well."
