Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were chairs and tables set up all across the lawn; some were by the bonfire, for the people who wanted to be warm and central to everything else at the picnic, and some were set farther away from the action, for the people who wanted more peace and quiet.

There was no escaping the glitter though. Sorry, but not really.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Edward loved this time of year. There was so much bloody food.

So of course he was out by the picnic table, collecting his fair share and then some.

"Try the chocolate fountain," Anna offered, helpfully. "There are pretzels and strawberries you can stick into it, and bam! Covered in chocolate."

"There's a bloody chocolate fountain this time?" Edward asked, looking faintly impressed.

And then he looked up to see who was talking and instantly upped the wattage on his grin. "Thank you for the advice. Much appreciated."

Okay she might be engaged (semi-engaged? Engaged, but on a hiatus?) but that didn't mean she wasn't going to turn bright pink when attractive boys smiled at her. Because she was.

"You're welcome," she said, trying not to seem flustered. "I mean, that sort of information needs to be shared. Chocolate fountains are too important to be missed. I think it even had marshmallows."

Hey, it'd probably help the not-seeming-flustered if she didn't absolutely suck at actually talking to hot guys.

It just made Edward grin harder, was the thing. To be fair, his smile was downright reflexive when it came to pretty girls. "It's all right, lass," he said. "I agree. It's vital information for anyone."

He put down a plate and offered her a friendly hand, as was the custom 'round here. "Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'm Edward."

Anna clasped his hand with the tips of her fingers, and curtsied over it. So ... not up on handshakes, then.

"Anna, of Arendelle," she said. "Are you a student here? I'm assuming most of the people here are students. Or maybe this is just a big party. Which is nice! I love parties."

Elsa's coronation had gone swimmingly, right up until it had been cancelled on account of her engagement.

Edward looked extremely amused by that near-handshake. "I'm a student, aye," he said, "but we're prone to parties 'round here, so you'll have no trouble here."

He dropped his hand.

"Though I'll offer some advice: if a man offers his hand, 'round here they expect you to give it a shake."

Not that he sounded exactly offended.

"Oh!" Anna dropped her hand, as well. "Oh, I see! Okay, we can try that."

She straightened her shoulders and held her hand out, putting a very Serious sort of face on. She was going to shake his hand in the most firm, manly, and yet ladylike manner possible.

Really.

Edward - barely containing his grin, or barely trying to - took her hand and offered her his end of a firm shake.

Which might be a little less firm than he would usually make it, but Anna didn't need to know that.
