The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"I haven't yet seen anything you need to apologise for," Bob answered. "Although I suppose to be fair, I haven't seen that much yet. It's a pleasure to meet you, certainly." Don't ask her if she's single yet! Be a little subtle! "What do you teach?"

"Adulting 101," Kitty answered. "Which is basically making sure the kids have the skills they need to like, pay bills when they leave here. What are you teaching?"

Bob looked pained for a moment."I know some adults who could use that class." Harry. "Defense against magic, to answer your question. It seemed the sort of thing the students here ought to know a bit better."

"Sounds about right," Kitty agreed. "So you know what this place is like, then?"

"I was here...well, I think the time is slightly different, but a little while ago," Bob answered. "I'm looking forward to seeing a bit more of it. I haven't gotten out much in a while. Have you lived here long?"

"Three years," she nodded. "Long enough to know I think all of the people and most of the weirdness that goes on."

"Does your own world have much 'weirdness'?" Bob asked curiously.

"Yeah. It's not that different from here in a lot of ways." Just wait till she met her... how many Tony Starks did she know now, anyway. "You?"

"Some of it. We have magic, of course, and numerous different supernatural creatures. But some of these are new to me." He pointed out Alana. "She has wings, but doesn't seem to be any sort of fae I'm familiar with. And," he nodded to Jono, "we've nothing like him back home."

"Even the stuff you recognize will probably be a little new to you," Kitty said. "Fandom likes to keep you on your toes."

"I'll keep that in mind," Bob promised. "Fortunately, I'm rather good at thinking on my toes. And it isn't as if I can be permanently killed."

"That's good!" Kitty smiled, totally sincerely. "That'll come in handy here."

"Hopefully not too often. It would be a dreadful pain to have to keep portalling back here." Since he would very likely end up right back in his skull.
