The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

"Well, just make sure they have harnesses or something soft to land on." That wouldn't be the worst thing teachers had done to their students, by a long shot. "And if you need any help, just let me know."

"They'll definitely have harnesses," Eliot assured her. The harnesses might not have been safety checked ahead of time, but Parker only used the best. "Thanks. It can't be easy trying to run a school like this."

"Thankfully, I don't have to do it alone. You can come to anyone in the administration if you need something. Like more fun harnesses. Or programming the Danger Shop to have something taller than the school."

She possibly shouldn't have been encouraging like this, but it was fun.

". . . It can do that?" And suddenly, he had several new ideas for this class. "Parker'll probably want to stick with her own equipment, but it's good to know the place is well stocked."

"The Danger Shop can be programmed to do all sorts of dangerous things, but because it's all a computer simulation, no one can actually get hurt," Zoe said. "It's good for teaching students things they're unfortunately likely to need to know in the future."

"'Round here, anyway," Eliot said. "I saw the class on how to deal with magic. Almost wish I could take that one myself."

"There are a lot of classes I think it would be interesting to take, or that would be useful for surviving here. Maybe you could talk to the teacher about personal lessons," she said. "I wish I could say we won't get attacked by people with magic ever, but that's not a promise I can make."

"Since arriving here, I've been attacked by wooden animals and possessed by a murderous ghost, and from what I gather, that ain't even the tip of the iceberg of this place. I ain't writing off any possibilities anymore."

"I wish I could say that in all my time here, I've seen everything, but I know that's not the case," Zoe said. "The hardest thing is usually watching the students you've gotten to know throwing themselves at the danger."

Eliot's lip quirked up. "Hell, I can't exactly blame 'em for that. I'da grown up in a place like this, I'd damn sure've been on the front lines." You know, back in his idealistic days before he went mercenary. "Least you know these kids've got decent teachers."
