Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"That is an accomplishment," she said approvingly.

"Cora likes to see me when she insults me," he said with a sigh. A sigh that in no way was actually upset by it.

"So this Cora is from your world, right?" Kitty checked.

No, seriously, it'd been forever since they really talked.

"Stiles found her." Which meant Derek had totally had his little clinging session with his magically alive sister already.

"Aww, good," she smiled. "I'm glad to hear that."

"So things are good. Better than I expected them to be."

For once in his life!

"It's about time," she said honestly.

"You'll have to meet her when she comes to town," Derek replied with a nod.

"I will. Does she get to come by much?" Kitty asked.

"Holidays," Derek replied, shaking his head. "She goes to school with her--with the pack that took her in."

"That's not so bad, though. You get to talk to her between then," she said, not unsympathetically.

"Once she graduates, we've talked about her taking--" He cleared his throat. "--taking Laura's old place in New York."

"That's be kind of fitting," Kitty said, being nice and not calling attention to the throat-clearing. "And she'd be close."

That was polite of her indeed. They had special lives with people randomly being alive and all.

"She can bother me even more."

"Well it is fun to bother you," Kitty agreed.

"Don't encourage her."
