Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.
There were tables ofmoddable food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
"Seriously, there are superheroes? I mean, there's the physiological stuff, but then that's a whole other lifestyle." Amy scrunched up her nose. Superhero media had always struck her as beyond unrealistic. Why would anyone wear tights, the world's most uncomfortable garment, to fight crime? "More power to them, I guess."
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
Raven herself, for instance.
"So what's it like where you're from?" she asked. "Do you join in any of those protest rallies?"
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
There were pictures of her on the internet holding a megaphone and wearing an 'Occupy Hester' t-shirt, but that was a whole other story.
"Overally it's a pretty uneventful area. We don't have any mutants, but we're home to the best amateur beauty pageant scene in Texas," she boasted sarcastically.
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
"Beauty pageants are fun," Raven said, mostly to be nice, but without any irony. "All those dresses."
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
Whatever that meant.
"Where are you from?"

metaOrange is the New Black."Of this Amy was certain.

Hell, she'd make that. Give her an hour alone with iMovie.
"But yeah, I'm totally with you on the newer stuff. Not that all of it is perfect, but I'm all for media where women get to do stuff." Including the dirty interpretation of that phrase, but Amy wasn't sure how to go about breaching that topic, or whether that was something she was supposed to do.
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
"I would watch the hell out of Feminist Fifties Moms," Raven agreed. "And I'm really good at doing different voices."
The key was being able to actually change the shape of your entire voice box.
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
2015 problems, right?
"Oh, yeah, I guess you would be," Amy said as the meaning of that statement actually connected. "And I'm good at downloading TV illegally, so..."
Hey, they could get YouTube famous! For the second time, in Amy's case.
Re: Meet Your Roommate [Spring 2015]
"Room 306 may have developed a project," Raven said. "Oh! We could ask Cecil about recording supplies. He's really into radio, so I bet he has some good microphones and things."
