The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Cara shook Pinkie's hoof, because why wouldn't she shake the pony's hoof? It made as much scenes as anything about her.

"Cara...I spent six weeks as your TA." Six horrifying and strange weeks. "After I graduated."

And clearly made quite an impression.

"OH MY GOSH!" Pinkie cried. "I'M SO SORRY! All you humans kinda look alike sometimes?" She grimaced. "Well it's super duper awesome to meet you again andalsoI'myourteachingbuddythissemesterandIdon'tusuallydothisbadatthatbutIhaveawelcomewagonandasongwouldyoulikeapartyhat?"

To be fair, sometimes Cara wasn't sure she hadn't hallucinated the whole thing. "I'm sure we do."

"...I'm fine without a hat." Also, no, spirits, no.

WELL SHE HADN'T SAID NO SONGS. And Pinkie was flustered enough to just bust out with her welcome song even when even she could see Cara was just not into it.

At least she didn't get the cake and confetti mixed up this time?

The only reason Cara knew that she hadn't died and gone to the Underworld was the lack of naked writhing bodies. On the whole, she'd probably prefer the Underworld.

"...thanks."

"You're super-duper welcome!" Get it? See what she did there? "Soooooo whatcha teachin'?"

Cara wished she didn't. "Life skills mostly." That was one way of putting it.

"Oh neato!" Pinkie was naturally overly enthusiastic, but her embarrassment took that to new levels, here. "Like how to sew on a button or bargain for cherries at the market?"

"Something like that." If it involved really violent sewing or bargaining.

"Well at least you've got some experience with being a TA and stuff!" Pinkie said, a little sheepishly. "I bet you'll be just super at teaching life skills!"

"I do my best."

"That is the bestest thing to do!"

"Exactly." Cara wasn't good at sparing people's or pony's feelings, but she was trying.

Honestly, Pinkie's feelings were pretty resilient. "Soooooo any questions?"

"No, I think I'm good." She was more than familiar enough with the island's crazy by this point.

She'd better be.

"Okidokiloki! If you need any teaching advice, though, you know which pony to look for!"
