The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

The only person Ronan could tolerate living with had been Gansey (and Noah though he was dead so he didn't count). Having to live with someone different?

A girl, even?

Ronan grunted under his breath and started chewing on his leather bracelets. Force of habit.

Cosette's roommates kept leaving, and while some people might take that as a sign that they should just enjoy having a single room, she was not so fond of the empty space, and so she'd put in a request for a new roommate.

For whom she was now looking, and a bit eagerly as well (she'd drawn flowers on her nametag and everything), because yay meeting new people!

"I beg your pardon," she said, mostly because she'd noticed the chewing and was mildly concerned. "Are you all right?"

[OOC: Going to be sporadic/SP until evening, I'm afraid.]

"Who, me?" Yes, Ronan knew she was talking to him but he asked anyway. He pulled his bracelets away from his mouth and glanced at her name tag.

Flowers. Of course.

"Fine. Are you all right?" Stop sounding so petulant, Ronan.

"I'm very well, thank you," Cosette answered with a smile. Yes, she'd noticed the petulance but didn't seem to be letting it put her off. It was stressful being in a new situation, after all. "Trying to find my new roommate. Ronan, that's the name they gave me. Would you happen to be him, by any chance?"

The girl with the flowers on his name tag was his roommate. Of course. God, he missed Monmouth right now. He'd even take Noah's stupid haunting over being here.

"I'm him," he said flatly. "Congratulations, we're roommates. I'm thrilled."

Okay, now Cosette would give him just the tiniest bit of side-eye, but she was just as cheerful as before when she said, "Oh! It is you! Well, I'm Cosette, and I'm pleased to meet you in that case. You look a lot like a boy who used to go to school here, has anyone told you that yet? It happens from time to time, I understand, so you mustn't be too surprised if you hear it."

And she could be a chatterbox too. Look out, Ronan.

Ronan's eyes narrowed and he didn't say anything for a few moments. He just stared at her, trying to parse her words.

"I've never been here before." He didn't quite get the fact that someone else could have his face.

"Oh, I believe you," Cosette assured him, completely earnest. "But I remember there was a boy, someone else entirely, who looked so much like you that someone might think you were the same person. It isn't odd. That is, it isn't odd for this place -- I'm sure it's strange to think about if it isn't something that's ever occurred to you before."
