The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Well. That certainly shook him from his reverie.

"Ah, yes," Obi-Wan said, reaching up to stroke said beard thoughtfully. "Me with the beard. And you are?"

"Electroclash," she said, looking him over for a nametag. Because she wanted to know if she could actually take a look at a weird name and pick the right person out of a crowd on first try.

He was not wearing a nametag, as he was not aware his name had already been broadcasted to the island and he had been unsure on which name to take. "Pleased to meet you," he said. "Thank you for the welcome."

It only sounded a little bit dry.

"Trust me, mate, it gets you settled in quicker if we don't all coddle you," Electroclash told him, refraining from rolling her eyes. It was her attempt at being nice. "I can tell you're new, so where the fuck is your name tag?"

It wasn't a very strong attempt.

"Interesting approach," Obi-Wan said mildly. "My nametag is elsewhere, I presume. I didn't think to take it. Are you looking for someone?"

"Some guy called Kenobi."

It was your lucky day, Obi-Wan.

"'Least that's part of the name. The bit I was mostly sure I wasn't mispronouncing."

Well, they had his last name on record. Then again, half of Tatooine knew his last name, unfortunately.

"Then you have found me," he said. "Greetings."

"Charmed," Electroclash rasped dryly. But she kept herself from noting she'd already wished he wasn't the guy, so that was good. "I'm your teaching buddy. Welcome to Fandom High."

"Thank you," Obi-Wan said, offering her a polite nod. "And what does a teaching buddy do...?"

"Answers stupid questions, mostly." Although to be fair, that was her own impression of what she did most of the time just in general. "Offers reassurances that the talking pink pony is not a hallucination."

"There's a talking pink pony?" Obi-Wan asked.

Partly because she'd been asking for it, honestly.

"Yes."

Well there was!

"She's very energetic."

Obi-Wan nodded. "Well," he said, "I suppose that is very interesting."

Electroclash actually made an effort to look around. "She's usually around here somewhere, with that grumpy-looking bloke –– ooh, over there!"

Yes. Yes she was absolutely pointing Pinkie and Derek out for him.
