The forecast for today might have called for rain, but thankfully, there was no sign of bad precipitation in Fandom. The weather was bright and sunny, but still a bit chilly, so the first thing people might have noticed when they arrived was the bonfire set up in the middle of the lawn. There were tables and chairs scattered around the bonfire, some a safer distance away than others, and each table had been graced with a good portion of gold and blue glitter because the glitter supply was never, ever going to run out and certain people in the administration had just come to terms with that.

There were tables of ~~moddable~~ food and drinks, complete with the ingredients to make s'mores, as well as name tags and the lists of Big Siblings and roommates. It was time to welcome some new people!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Alex was keeping an eye out for someone called Cassandra, searching the name tags until she came across the one she was after.

"Cassandra?" she approached her, "I'm Alex, I'm your big sibling,"

Big sibling was such a curious title. Cassandra was not sure she liked it.

"Alex," she greeted. "I was told you would answer my questions."

And she had many.

She nodded, "hopefully I will be able to answer them," she told her, "what would you like to know?"

"What is this place?"

She almost fired off a few more questions, but realized just in time she should give Alex some time to answer.

"Fandom is..." Alex tried to think of the best way to describe the island, "it's a school mostly and the students live in the dorms when they don't have class but there are people who do live in the town. I should mention also that people tend to come from all over the place here, so you will have people from the past and the future here," there was a pause, "and it is also 2015 here,"

"...2015 what?" Cassandra asked, squinting at her.

Look, her people counted time in eras.

"2015, it's the year it currently is here," Alex told her.

"That cannot be true," Cassandra said, staring at her. "Time magic is impossible."

"It does take some getting used to," Alex admitted, "I'm originally from about nearly twenty years in the past, what year is it where you come from?" she was curious about what she had meant by time magic.

"It is 9:17 Dragon, by the Chantry calendar," Cassandra said. "Unless we are using a vastly different calendar. That would make more sense."

Time magic. Ridiculous.

"I must admit that I haven't heard of that type of calendar before ," Alex told her.

"Strange," Cassandra said. She studied Alex. "You are not Andrastian, then, are you?"

Alex shook her head, "no I'm not," she said, "is that where you come from?" She was curious.
