American History: Lies Your Other Teachers Told You

"Hey," Josh said. "Hope you're all unpossessed or whatever. Last week was weird."

He took a sip of his coffee.

"Anyway. Finals. Today you have a series of multiple choice followed by an essay, so...a lot like the SATs, which most of you probably aren't taking because you're all from weird other dimensions where college doesn't matter or something."

Josh had grown a little jaded.

"Anyway, happy holidays!" He gestured around at the candles. "Enjoy the ambience?"

Cosette got about half of them right, because this class always made her do a lot of research on her library days, but all things considered that was pretty good for her. Like a school taught by extremely ascetic nuns in the 1820s cared much about French history, let alone American history.
