Intro to Business (first meeting)

Hey all! Welcome to Intro to Business.

Tonight, I'd like everyone to take a turn introducing themself to the rest of the class. Please include your name, where you're from and at least one interesting fact about yourself.



[OOC: as long as you do this by next week, it's cool with me. and the info is more for me since there are so many fandoms i'm not familiar with. also, tonight is the season premiere of gilmore girls and, well, i can't miss that! i'll post a final roster next tuesday, so if there are any stragglers that want to join - just comment on this post and include your introduction.]

*Looks at Anya for a moment, eyes wide and blinking in astonishment.*

I'm Kiki. I'm a witch-in-training, so according to tradition - my family's really old-fashioned - after I turned 13 I left home to live by myself in a completely unfamiliar town as the first stage of my training. My one real skill is flying, so I started a delivery service. Now I'm here for the next part of my training - the classes part - but I hope to restart my delivery service here, too. I figure at least someone here will have a use for a fast, reliable delivery girl to transport, um, things.

When she gets a second, Anya pulls Kiki aside and whispers:

"I am curious. How far can you fly and how much can you carry?"

Kiki looks a little confused and a little flattered.

"Well, my flight is broom-based, so to speak, so I can fly as long as I've got enough energy to keep up the magic that holds my broom in the air. Falling asleep on a broomstick? Not really that fun. The magic is fueled by my own energy - so I can't carry something I couldn't lift with my own strength, and if I'm carrying something heavy, I can't fly as far or as fast; it's too tiring. Also more difficult to steer. As an estimate I could probably carry anything up to, oh, 30 or 40 pounds I guess, for a half day's flight without it being a problem."

Anya looks disappointed. "That doesn't help me much then."

Kiki blinks. "Wow. You must have a lot you need to carry..."

"Not a lot. Just very far." Anya notices Prof. Gilmore-Danes is glancing their way and snaps her eyes forward, smiling.

Kiki gives her a tiny nod and turns her attention back to the professor, whispering from the side of her mouth, "Talk to me after class, ok?"
