Heroic Tales, Wednesday, Period Two
Once again, class was in the Danger Shop. This was because Thor needed a lot of snow for today's class, and the weather outside wasn't exactly adequate.
When the students arrived, they'd see a snow-filled landscape, barren except for a small grove of trees. They were looking at the setting of Adrift in the Hinterlands.
"Many times, when we think of a heroic tale, we think of a struggle and triumph against a wicked villain, but not all stories follow this formula. Sometimes nature itself is the 'villian', although it is an unthinking force that cannot act with malice. Still, it provides obstacles that the hero must overcome. Severe weather is one such obstacle. If you were trapped in this area with only a few basic supplies," a saw, some matches, and some rope, for example, of which there were enough for each student in the class, "how would you build yourself a shelter?
