Shop Class: [2/27] - Danger Shop Craziness

As the students enter the shop room, Mac greets them with a smile.

After everyone arrives and signs-in, Mac makes some adjustments to the remote control and the room turns into a metal scrapyard.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to Shop Class. Today we'll be doing another one of our Junkyard creativity excercises..."

*SLAM* *CLUNK*

Mac looks over at the doors to the shop class which have closed and locked on their own. "Hal? Could you open please?"

"I'm sorry Mac," said a monotone voice. "I'm afraid I can't do that. Apparently someone is very upset at you."

Five robots shimmer into existence around the group of students.

"Okay. This is not good," Mac muttered to himself. "Kids! Run for it! Get into the supply room! There's no holoprojectors there!"

The robot turned when it sensed motion and swung for Kawalsky with one hand. The strength in its arm, should it make contact, would send Kawalsky flying into the wall.

It continued on its path, as if it had merely brushed a gnat out of the way.

Kawalsky hit the wall pretty hard and then hit the ground. He grunted and groaned. He stayed put for a good 30 seconds until he could breathe properly again. "Tackling robots is a bad idea. Good to know."

He sucked in a deep breath and ignored the pain in his back. He pushed himself to his feet and took cover again, looking out to see if he could make out anyone who still hadn't made it. He couldn't see anyone, but then it was pretty manic out there.

This time, Kawalsky tried to circle around to get to the Supply Room. He grabbed a metal pipe from what looked to be someone's work in progress. It wasn't too heavy, but bulky enough to do some damage should another, less advanced robot come after him.

Another robot fired laser shots at Kawalsky, aiming for his feet, slightly ahead of him. It was so focused on the target, it was possible that it could be snuck up upon.

It almost looked like Kawalsky was dancing to dodge the laser shots. Almost. He hurried to get into a position that wouldn't allow the robot to shoot at him, but the going was tough.

He dodged behind something that was big enough to provide cover and looked out of the corner of his eye around the corner. The robot was advancing on him. Weapons were scarce, but he had to do something. He was pinned down.

The robot couldn't jump over to squash Kawalsky, so it had to come crawling around one of the sides. By the look of it, it was coming around the right. Kawalsky went left.

He misjudged and came face to face with the robot. He didn't have time to think, only act. He brought the pipe up and used all of his strength to bash it in the 'head' like he was swinging a baseball bat. Kawalsky had a pretty good swing.
