US Government (Friday, February 24, 4th period)

"For those of you who were not in Professor Lyman's US History class, you will not know me. My name is Mr Feeny. You may call me Mr Feeny. Professor Lyman has been called away on urgent business that is none of your concern unless someone lets him near a microphone again.

It's my understanding from Professor Lyman's notes that you were learning about the President of these United States and the forces that support him to make every day decisions in the government. Today will be a discussion-based class and the proposed hypothetical question is this - if you were President for a single day and you could enact one change in the current administration's policies, what would you choose to change and why would you change it?

'Blowing something up' is not a suitable answer, Mr Elric."

"Going on something that hasn't been mentioned, 'prolly the education system. Take highschools for instance, since we could relate to that more-- There's been debate here and there about choosing the school you go to rather than going to a designated school depending on the area you live in. It'd create a sort of competition amongst them, and have them strive to get better teaching requirements and courses. I'd allow that, for one; I think it would make a lot of people happier and strive more for acedemic success. Also, I'd get rid of that manditory passing of a standardized test in order to graduate. One could be making great grades, but because they aren't able to pass a test that normally isn't covered in their regular classes they're unable to move on. It's a little unfair for those who struggle with that sort of thing, in my opinion." Alphonse crossed his arms and nodded. "That's just a little portion of what I think. And no explosions happened in the process."
