Faculty Meeting (Friday after classes)

With the semester in full swing, Zoe thought there might be a need for the teachers and administration to talk to each other. Or maybe it was just Friday and Fridays deserved to be celebrated. Either way, a handwavy message had gone out to the staff to meet in the student council room for an informal faculty meeting. Zoe had set up coffee, cold drinks, donuts, and pastries; there was nothing alcoholic yet, but it was still early in the semester.

"Good afternoon," she said once it looked like everyone was there. "I wanted to give everyone a chance to get together now that we're past the introduction phase with the students. Feel free to take some food and talk to each other about whatever you need to." Whether they talked about students or things that actually interested them was up to them.

"Never failed me," Reno replied, laughing and shaking his head. "Hell, I'd say you did just fine as a teacher, yo."

Was he deliberately misinterpreting what she was saying, there?

"Extra swimming laps for deliberate misconstruing of my words, Reno. Perhaps I should have failed you, for your continued abuse of the English language," Ghanima teased.

Of course chocobos said 'wark.' And Reno would be difficult as surely as the sun rose.

"Can't really go back and retroactively fail me now," Reno drawled, as cheeky as ever. "But I'll take those extra laps and I'll like 'em. What's it gonna hurt? It's just water."

And... sploosh.

"Fuckdammit!"

The sooner the island got this icewater thing out of its system, the sooner Reno could stop making plans to light the whole goddamn place on fire.

Ghani couldn't help it, she pointed at Reno and laughed uproariously, to the point another person would be in tears.

"You deserved that, dearest one."

"For what?" Reno sounded a touch incredulous, but he knew he probably deserved it for something or other.

As it stood, he was going to busy himself with peeling his jacket off, because... ugh. Wet jacket. Soggy Turk. Meetings sucked.
