Technology and You- Monday- 1st period

It was really a good thing radio was short, because after getting doused with ice water and cleaning up, Kitty had to run back home and change clothes before her first period class. And if she was still pulling her wet hair back in a ponytail as she started class, well, shut up, she was rushed. At least she was awake now!

Anyway, the class was back in a Danger Shopped computer lab, and everyone had their laptops back. The differences were that this week there a) were phones on the desks, and b) there was a screen where Kitty could use her own computer and they could see what she was doing at every step.

"I promise every week won't be about computers, but they're kind of important in this day and age, and we're going to go a little bit deeper there today," she said. "I'm going to walk you through a couple basic things, so you should be able to walk out of here and move on from there. And I want you to know that if at any point in this class, you don't understand something, you should definitely speak up. Everyone's in the same boat here, so never feel bad about asking questions. Also if anyone ever wants extra help with something, I'll be having office hours on Fridays, so you can always come talk to me one on one. Okay? So, let's get started."

Nathan, amazingly, had heard of email before. He didn't have one but apparently that was going to change right now.

He stared at the Gmail screen for a bit, ignoring the intense buzzing in his head what with all the tech around him, and ended up going with:

nedge@gmail

It seemed to work okay and the password was a quick process too and then he had an email account. Something he didn't think he'd ever have or want.

Jalian shrugged and used jalian@gmail, then just made her password "password".

...Edward was still not doing too well, what with the letters and all. Edward only hoped he could pretend his way through this class so he could ask Rapunzel to finally give him those lessons later.

He thought he'd be safest just typing some of the sequences of letters he spotted elsewhere on the screen.

The resulting email was not very impressive, but at least it existed.

Alex knew about email but had not had the need to set up an account before, but she found this relatively straight forward.

She ended up going quite basic for her email and had managed to get alexmack@gmail.com

Nathan had gotten some exposure to a search engine last time so he kind of remembered what to do.

Today, he decided to search for something simple like...Wales. Just to see what information he could find about one of his favorite places.

Jalian googled "Armageddon". She got...a lot of things about some movie, and nothing at all useful.

Well, it hadn't happened here, she reminded herself, and tried "thermonuclear weapons" instead.

Kitty liked the NSA, didn't she?

Phones were not Nathan's friend. That's when he tended to feel the worst when it came to his buzzing but he listened and dialed the number. When the music came on, he didn't know what he was hearing, at first.

"Hello? Hello?" The music kept playing and Nathan just...well, he just held the phone somewhat away from him and listened to the music. Hopefully he hadn't broken anything.

Jalian frowned at the very boring music, then just set the receiver on the desk as she went back to the computer. She could hear it perfectly well from there if anything happened.
