Technology and You- Monday- 1st period
It was really a good thing radio was short, because after getting doused with ice water and cleaning up, Kitty had to run back home and change clothes before her first period class. And if she was still pulling her wet hair back in a ponytail as she started class, well, shut up, she was rushed. At least she was awake now!
Anyway, the class was back in a Danger Shopped computer lab, and everyone had their laptops back. The differences were that this week there a) were phones on the desks, and b) there was a screen where Kitty could use her own computer and they could see what she was doing at every step.
"I promise every week won't be about computers, but they're kind of important in this day and age, and we're going to go a little bit deeper there today," she said. "I'm going to walk you through a couple basic things, so you should be able to walk out of here and move on from there. And I want you to know that if at any point in this class, you don't understand something, you should definitely speak up. Everyone's in the same boat here, so never feel bad about asking questions. Also if anyone ever wants extra help with something, I'll be having office hours on Fridays, so you can always come talk to me one on one. Okay? So, let's get started."

Email
Once they'd all done that, she went on, "Next is your password. That's a series of numbers or letters, or a word that you'll remember. You input that so only you can get into your account. Never ever give anyone your password. If someone asks for it, they're trying to access your account and that's usually bad. I've also put some scratch paper next to you, so write down both your email and password. Don't show it to anyone, and don't lose it. But you'll have it in case you want to log on later and you forget it."
How's it going, guys?

Google
"This is a search engine. If you want to get to a website and don't know how to get there, you can put it in this search bar here and it'll pull up results for you. Or if you just feel like knowing more about say, puppies, you can type that in here and you can see webpages about it, or pictures, or video."
That's right, she was going to leave up a Google Image search of puppies. You're welcome.
"Now type something in there that you might be curious about, hit enter, and see what results you get. Just keep it appropriate for class. Some of the results, by the way, might be for something called Wikipedia. It's a giant online enclyclopedia where you can look up a ton of stuff, so you can remember or write down that address."
How're you doing now?

Tech Support
They'd be listening to hold music for the rest of class. Feel free to talk or complain about your teacher's weird sense of humor.
