The students who showed up to class today would find a note telling them to meet at the Danger Shop, which was made up to look like a little computer lab. Each desk had a laptop on it, which would not be able to be broken in any way. Thanks, Danger Shop!

"Morning," Kitty greeted them, trying for cheerful when she already knew her week was going to suck. "Welcome to Technology and You. I'm Kitty Pryde, and I don't really care what you call me. In this class, you're going to get to learn more about the technology available on present day Earth so hopefully things will get a little easier for you, and you can get questions answered. This means we're going to be covering things like computers, other electronics, and transportation. We're going all in here.

"So! It's the first week and I get to do the very first introductions you're all going to get sick of. I want to know your name, when and where you're from, and where you think you are in understanding technology. And if there's anything you definitely want to cover, mention that too. Then we're going to work on some stuff, so let's start with you there."

"Right," Nathan said, giving the icon a click and watching a screen come up. His eyes widened a touch. "Oh. That's...easier than I thought it would be."

"They try to make this stuff pretty user friendly, and it is, you just need to know which icons do what. And you can feel free to play with stuff to see what they do," Kitty told him.

Nathan nodded. "And I assume I just click things to get to various places on this internet thing?"

"Sort of. You see that white bar up there? You can type in an address and hit hit enter and it'll take you to that website," she said.

"Address?" Nathan repeated, squinting at the screen. "Like a street address?"

He wished he was kidding, he really did.

"Sort of. It's the computer version of a street address. Like if you type in www.google.com, it'll take you to the Google webpage. The address is how you know how to get where you're going," Kitty explained.

"Oh." Nathan paused. "Is there a directory for addresses around?"

He had no idea how big the internet was.

"No, there are way too many addresses for that," she smiled. "But for that you can go to a search engine, like Google. You type in what you're looking for, like 'cars' or 'shark week' or whatever, and it'll give you results to websites about it."

"Got it," Nathan said, nodding. Even if it was still a little murky, what she'd told him made sense. "I think I can do that. Doesn't sound like something I can mess up."
